Quick News

Pushing more involved titles is as misguided as the not-so-recent mobile digital television in phones. It's just not the platform for it.

Or at least I hope so, mobile games with micro transactions are very lucrative due to a handful of addicts.

its not just MT. How popular would Diablo be if you could pay a one off cost, and have it on your phone to play anytime and anywhere you want. e.g. on bus or train going to school, in your lunch break etc.

I was watching one guy playing his switch on the flight from UK to Norway, and I must admit I was a little jealous. Made me wish I had something on my tablet or phone to occupy me. Mobile gaming is so convenient these days, companies would be crazy not to exploit it somehow.

I just dislike that the gaming evolution is moving towards mobiles more than ever now.

Here is your market in China the biggest gaming community in the world.

Switch is already a lot nicer than mobile gaming, I might be old-fasioned but lack of tactile buttons is a complete dealbreaker for me.
Honestly I just want D:I to fail, since if it doesn't, many more franchises will follow. :D

I agree. I travel alot with work so I am tempted by the switch. I need physical buttons to interact with. I just don't see it failing.

Have you seen the small Chinese Windows 10 and Android clamshell computers you can buy? The GPD models like the Win series are the most famous but there are lots of clones & competitors about nowadays. I think a few of the recent "Gamer phones" have also come with gamepad accessories, and iirc the Smach Z is currently on sale but with full production only just starting due to some issues.
A more budget solution is to get a phone stand for an existing PS4/XOne/Steam/Switch/Ect controller and just pair it via bluetooth(Need a 2nd or 3rd gen Xbone controller and latest Steam controller firmware for bluetooth on them), there are a fair few reasonable emulators and ports and stuff like that nowadays, a lot of Unity games seem to get a port now and theres been a handful of AAA ports of older games.

EDIT: But the Switch is still really nice, BoTW (I played that on Wii U myself) is probably my favourite game of all time, Mario Kart 8 is probably the best of the series and the DLC is all quality (That's standard on the Switch version I think), and Odyssey (Which I borrowed my friends Switch to play through) is a masterpiece and certainly the most polished and expansive 3D Mario so far.

I think we're all used to Jensen Huang acting likes he's about to start a boxing match with the hyperbole at this point tbh. He goes on to claim they invented the use of adaptive sync with GSync (Actually a VESA eDP standard since 2009) and that most FreeSync monitors are "broken".

He's always been like that, NVIDIA have always been like that.

Lots of companies he has belittled with his smack talking are either not around any more or, can't stand him or his company.

That's why Intel fell out with NVIDIA. They were getting above their station.

Its smart words. It builds confidence in shareholders and investors to make bold statements like that. Especially when you are the dominant one in the market.

I've still not worked out whether that's a business tactic to get people to dismiss their competitors in a similar manner or if he's just trapped in the mind of a 14 year old but I doubt it does much good for attempts at sensible internet discussions, starts to seem more like a debate over whos football team is better than a discussion on essentially oversized calculators.

Until AMD/independent reviewers can knock Nvidia down a peg with proof he can confidently take this position.

I agree with warchild that although it's not the most likeable or humble stance, it does keep the shareholders confident and they are still market leaders in performance until we see otherwise

Smart? depends on who you ask. Arrogant and cocky? most definitely.

I personally don't like it. I'm all for letting my product do the talking, and hold off chatting s**t but each to their own. This isn't Jerry Springer.

Have to agree here, I don't think most shareholders and investors are falling for this child like ludicrous hyperbole stuff otherwise NVidia wouldn't have been the worst performing company on the S&P 500 last year.
This kinda talk is meant for tech press & consumers, he knows it'll make headlines and get kids riled.

Bungie is splitting from Activision, Probably due in part because Activision is ruining everything they put their hands on.

I'm surprised. I was expecting Wraith to be here first with the Destiny news.

Beat me to the post Dicehunter, well played.

Since this is Quick News I will post a link to the full news post for this Bungie/Destiny news.

I'm getting a 404 error on that link. Strange.

I can confirm that they are making TIM. Haven't made a news post on this, too much other CES stuff that took priority.

They probably just haven't made the page live yet but it's the page they posted on their Facebook.
