And yeah, you are right, if I was going to watercool an M.2 i'd start with a black PCB drive that didn't need hiding at all. Just so it served even less of a purpose.

It'll be pricey but worth it I reckon. Apparently the final version will be all metal with no plastic and will maybe retail for $299. Which is cheaper than a Cosmos 2 or 900D.

Yeah, $299USD if it comes here it will be about $549AUD at a guess
