Yup I warned people that something similar was happening with Gamestop here in Ireland, apparently it is over booked by 600 units!

There's going to be a riot if this is true.
It's partially true. Some pre orders were not successful for whatever reason but there really shouldn't be any need to worry.
When I first pre ordered the game my debit card at the time was set to expire before the game came out. I asked what would happen if I accidentally forgot to update it and it bounced and they promised me that they would do everything they could with me to secure the order and get it paid for.
So basically even if the payment bounced my Pip Boy edition would remain reserved until I could sort out payment (they said they would phone me).
Also, in another news article they have stated that they would spend the weekend phoning every one who had an issue and try their best to get it sorted.
Me? mine went fine. On Sunday afternoon I got an email stating that my order had been processed and then about five minutes later the cash was gone from my bank balance and I received an email on Sunday evening confirming it was shipped.
The main issue I had with this was that Game's website collapsed when they announced the Pip Boy back in June, so it really was survival of the fittest to get one pre ordered. I had to wait on the phone for nearly three hours before getting through, and by then all of the PS4 versions were gone. Thankfully there was still some meat on the PC bone so I got in nice and early.
All being well I will have mine tomorrow via DPD.
Silly question but what is so good about the Pip Boy
What I do know, having installed the Pip Boy app on my phone is that it basically turns your phone into the game's actual Pip Boy. However, as I said, it looks like the phone can connect specifically to the Pip Boy itself (via Blue Tooth I guess?) and interact with your phone.
Sadly yeah. Ah well, I'm in for the long haul but I must admit as soon as they mentioned they'd worked with Nvidia I already started to feel dread.
Mods will make it better![]()
It's achieved very high scores even with the bugs.

I've got a mate playing it and apparently he reckons the FPS tanks are caused by God Rays, the only Gameworks feature. He said he can't tell the difference between ultra and low, apart from going from 50 to 100 FPS.
So it seems we have discovered the rat in the game, and once again it's Nvidia Failworkz.
You know with how "successful" I guess you can call Gameworks has been lately(that is getting all the AAA games to use it) you'd figure they would have fixed all the huge performance impacts it has since it's been pretty consistently hurting performance at least from there side? I'm sure Bethesda will release a post launch patch like Ubisoft always does for there games.. wouldn't be surprised if it was a 10GB patch to fix it
Although then again mods will probably fix this game right up as they have done with Skyrim.
I think Witcher 3 was probably the only gameworks title that came out where performance wasn't impacted too much. Was still achievable to maintain a fairly high fps, however 1 out of the dozen games isn't a really good track record. Don't know if it's Nvidia's software or just devs not optimizing as much as they could to make the impacts less. I guess that could be a reason why Witcher 3 was delayed? To further optimize the Gameoworks stuff?
