"AMD Reveals Latest Plans For Open-Source openSIL With Replacing AGESA, Zen 6 Milestone"

https://www.phoronix.com/news/AMD-openSIL-September-2024

AMD has given an update on openSIL which in the near future will be replacing AGESA. The benefits are the low level firmware will be opened sourced, allow greater flexibility of adapting new technologies, increase security, increased compatibility with Chromebooks(they rely on openSIL support I believe).

Will be introduced one month after a product launch(otherwise people would learn the hardware before it even released) and should be around for Zen 6 and fully transitioned over for Zen 7. From Epyc class to consumer class.

That's interesting. Will need to read deeper into that later.

If you click that link at the bottom there are more articles related to openSIL. At least there was for me. Good reads. Of course obviously other sources I'm sure could also be beneficial reads.

More often than not AMD will announce stuff like this for Linux and the windows community never hears about it. Pretty much because Linux runs everything and they are fast at adapting.

I do wonder if the game uses FSR 3 or FSR 3.1. In their FSR 3 page it says "Note that FSR Frame Generation can only be used when AMD FidelityFX Super Resolution 3 upscaling is enabled." This suggests that the game does not use FSR 3.1.

Hogwarts Legacy Definitive Edition is in development. Its content will be sold as a separate DLC for those with the existing game.

The Definitive Edition is said to have around 10-15 hours of additional content, with a new story quest, side quests, activities, and outfits.
