Question about Spectre LED fans

Hey guys,

I'm gonna start building a computer myself for the first time in the next couple of days. I've decided to use a CoolerMaster CM 690 II advanced, but I wanna replace the stock fans with Bitfenix Spectre LED fans in orange.

I would like to be able to switch the fan LEDs off and on. Preferrably with the button that's already on the top of the case and is normally used for the front fan. If that's not possible, I'd like to here about another possibilities.

Is there any way I can do this?

I'm a noob when it comes to electronics and stuff, so I'm probably not gonna be able to dismantle the fans and braze the wires to a switch or whatever.

I've though about buying the Bitfenix Hydra, but I don't like the feact that it sits at the back of your case so I would've to crawl under my desk to turn the fans off and on. An even bigger problem with the Hydra though is, that I simply can't find a shop that sells it :/

Help pls guys!

Hi JayJay,

The reason why you aren't able to find the Hydra anymore is because:

A. You have to crawl under your desk to turn the fans off, and

B.

We'll be releasing it soon, so hold onto your hats.

Although that thing definitely is pretty damn awesome, it's just massive overkill for my needs.

I don't even need a fan controller, let alone one, that I can access with my phone. (From what I've heard the Spectre fans don't move a massive amount of air, so they would have to run relatively fast anyway and they're really quiet so even if they are on 12V the entire time, that's totally fine.)
