Question About Multiple Monitors at different Resolutions

So, I have been debating to myself about getting a 2560x1440 Monitor for gaming. I currently already own a pair of 1920x1080 ASUS VH242's for the last few years.

Here is my question, I don't plan to game across 3 monitors, just on the primary, aka, the 2560x1440. I have a GTX 680, and am wondering if the other two can still function in conjunction with the 1440p monitor as just secondary screens for watching things like netflix, browsing the web, etc... will they function properly in that regard?

Also, any recommendations on a 2560x1440 monitor? I'd like the price to not get ridiculous, just looking for a good bang for the buck option (I know their not cheap lol)

Do you mean at the same time as gaming on the primary monitor?

You can use different resolutions in a monitor setup. I know quite a few people who use 1440p as a primary monitor with two 1080p secondary monitors.

You can run different resolutions fine, as long as you're not trying to use surround gaming. You would have to use 3 monitors with the same res as far as I know..

Yeah, pretty much, I wanna be able to game while I have WWE Network / Netflix running on a monitor, and have the 3rd for stuff like EVGA Precision X, Corsair Link, etc...

You'll be able to do that and you're going to love it :)
Posting any pics when you have your setup updated?

yes and it will be excellent :) My advice would be to put the two smaller screens in a vertical orientation either side of the new screen :) you'll LOVE it.

Yup you can run different resolutions and different refresh rates. I've been doing it for a while now but every now and then I run into idiosyncrasies when I run certain games in combination with other apps. And the PB278Q is an excellent monitor for gaming. I regularly game on one. 5ms pixel response, no ghosting but the 60 Hz is an eyesore for me at times.

There is the Asus PB287Q 4k display (not to be confused with the PB278Q which is WQHD). It promises to be 60 Hz but its a TN panel though.

It's arrived! Completely worth every penny i spent! :)
Left and Right monitors are ASUS VH242's and the Center is the new PB278Q
