Ok so I have placed an order (awaiting parts so modifications can be made to the order)
but i came across something quiet interesting and wanted to get the forums opinion
So the parts in question i have ordered:
ASUS Maximus VII Hero Motherboard (Dual Channel motherboard)
Corsair Vengeance Black 16GB (4x4GB) (Quad Channel RAM)

What affects positive or negative am i going to experience placing this Quad channel RAM into the Dual channel Motherboard

I assume the default of it will only run like a dual channel kit then what is the point of having 2X dual channels on a motherboard if it will only run off one?

You should see no problems. A quad channel kit just means that the ram is matched up and will work in all four slots. Its the same thing as buying 2 dual channel kits.

If you were only using 2 slots, buy a dual channel kit. You have four slots, so this kit is perfect.

Perfect Thank you Rick :)

Yeah, with motherboards the quad or dual channel makes a difference, with RAM kits dual channel kits are just 2 dimm kits and quad channel kits have 4.

The motherboard is what controlls the RAM and channels, the RAM doesn't know.
