Q6600 Overclock problem

So my clock at the moment is at 336 at 3.02ghz. If i try any higher clock then the computer would keep shutting on and off for a few times and then it boots up saying overclock failed. Any advice where I should look at? (Idle temp 42c)

going to need to know a little more about your system dude if we are to help.

which msi motherboard?

which adata ram?

what psu?

what cooling?

how are your temps? (load is what matters)

as all these things are important to overclocking.
