hi all

choose what to buy??

q9550 = 570$

q9450 = 320$

q9300 = 250$

q6700 = 275$

q6600 = 195$

E8500 = 195$

E8400 = 170$

for everything

thanks

Well, the most expensive/the best. However Id go for the e8400 unless you are seriously hardcore.

I'd suggest the E8400 or E8500 for dual core as it comes as a 3ghz chip and being low priced

and for quad core go for the q6600 or something better

It really depends on when you are going to upgrade. If you don't plan to any time soon, go for a quad. The four cores will become more useful in the future. If you plan on upgrading to something else, say, Nehalem, go for an E8600 when they come out in the next week or two.

well there something we did not talk about

q6600 need moor money for cooler ( it is so hot cpu )

E8600 and E8500 and E8400 done need money for cooler ( it is so cold cpu )

what i choose good and cheap is ( E8600 and E8500 )

what you say?

I would still be looking to buy something like an Xigmatek HDT-S1283 to cool a dual core. Simply because they don't like the higher voltages and temps that overclockers put on them. So it isn't really a case as simple as "the E8600 is cold, so I don't need a great cooler to keep up with it".

Keep in mind that you might be able to get 4.5GHz now with the E8600, and only 3.6-3.7GHz with the Q6600. But, in the future, it will be better (by how much, we cannot say) to have four cores. The E8600 is a good choice, but really do think long and hard about it. Either chip you go for, you will get great single core performance out of anyway, so either choice you make is going to work really well for you.

I would say the E8400 for gaming, it can overclock jsut as much as the E8500 and will save a little bit of cash
