PSU: CORSAIR HX520: Suitable?

Yep, and to be honest a single 8800 card should be more than enough for quite some time...

I will probably go for the 520 unless XMS can give more info on the silver power.

Just in case anyone is mislead, I am getting a HIS x1950 video card, the reason I asked is because I may upgrade in the future... and dont want to have to change everything..

I had a chance to read the review on the SilverPower PS and it looks VERY NICE

Great review too GUYS:worship:

I would imagine you couldnt go wrong with either choice. The main difference I saw was that the Corsair has modular cables. That would allow you to only use cables you needed making the installation cleaner.

but the SilverPower is a looker:cool:

cOULD YOU LINK ME TO THE SILVERPOWER REVIEW? xms SAID IT WAS BEST IN CLASS BUT i COULDNT FIND A SILVERPOWER REVIEW WITH THE BEST OF CLASS AWARD...

the 520 would run just about any video card. (same with the 600)

I dont think the difference between the 2 is much. I like that the Corsair has 3 12V rails (the 600 watt only has 2)

And I like the modular cables of the Corsair as well.

I dont think the Silverpower is available here in the states yet so I dont know where it is or how much.

Ok basically two contendors, the 520 and the SilverPower.

I have to wait to get my free delivery coupon off specialtech, so everyone has until then to post their opinions.

Thanks

That has an editors choice award, but where is the best in class thing?

Sorry my bad - not thinking straight. Anyway, Editors Choice isn't to be sniffed at :worship:

I just had a simlar choice and I went with the SilverPower. I should get it 2day and ill post and tell u how it is. I like that it only has 1 120mm fan so it will be quieter than my old Hiper 580w. Specs in sig.

Sweet. Basically if specialtech get back to me with a coupon in the next 3 hours Ill get the 520. Otherwise the silver power.

Ok just poped in my SilverPower and pld css with everything oced. Its seems fine, no probs, and is very quiet :)

One thing, one of the cables wasnt long enough to put all 3 of my HD's (non SATA Powered) onto it. So I had to use an extension cable that i had. Apart from that i love it :) blue matches my other fans.

Hmm sounds sweet, shame I just ordered the 520. Should I be regretting my decision?? (the blue LED would have been cool) I probably ended up saving £10 getting the 520 over the silver power.

You should be fine with the Corsair, as long as its a good make and powerful enough them ur onto a winner.

They are usually the factors involved in choosing a PSU :D

Anyway hopefully we both have winners.
