hi,

ive been attempting to OC my cpu and have managed to get it to 3.2ghz without changin the voltage. my MB doesnt allow me to alter the fsb-ram ratio any less than 2:1 which means my ram runs at 780mhz when i do this but i dont see any performance increase when i run 3dmark06.

ive been told that my cos my ram is designed to run at 667mhz theres not much point in OC'ing my cpu, is this true?

ive also been lookin into my ram latency settings and it defaults at 5/5/5/15. do i have to alter these settings in order to OC my ram? i did try to set the ram to 3/3/3/12 but the system wont boot when i do that.

intel core duo E6750 2.66ghz 4mb cache processor

geforce 8800GTS 320mb GPU

gigabyte S775 intel GA-P35C-DS3R motherboard

2GB DDR2 SDRAM (667 Mhz)

Samsung SpinPoint 320GB 7200RPM S300 16MB

For stabitity if your raising your FSB then you should loosen your timings(increase numbers) not tighten (decrease)

once you know what FSB you are planing to run at, then try to tweak your timings lower.

Also you wont see much of an improvment form 06, especialy with a dual core. Try somthing like superpi or wprime to guage performace gains on CPU.

I use passmark performance test to check for improvments. Not the most thorough test but gives a good quick idea of how your overclocking is going. Like the post above said, dont bother with 3dmark06
