Could I have peoples opinions on my soon to be rig.

This is costing me ~£600, which is a hell of a lot of cash for me. I wont be upgrading for a while, thus hopefully I have done a good job.

500GB Seagate Barracuda SATA2 16MB

2 * 2gb OCZ PC2 6400 GOLD EDITION XTC

256MB HIS X1950Pro,TURBO PCIe

Gigabyte GA-P35C-DS3R Socket 775 Motherboard

Intel E6750 Core 2 Duo 2.66Ghz

VUSYS Space Warrior Yellow

Corsair HX520 PSU

Opinions on the general specs, and its ability to do various things would be sweet.

Thanks

Should be a pretty nice set-up mate.

One thing though. Replace the Gigabyte with a IP35 and you'll be laughing

:nono: (Is there no crying smiley?)

Thanks for your opinions. With regards to the mobo sadly all the parts are already ordered... why is that Asus mobo better?

I think that is the other one suggested to me but I was told the gigabyte was better value for money.

How well would you think a rig like this would run program, games, multitask etc?

Also how futureproof do you reckon this is?

Thanks

It will run programs very nicely. I also have to consider value and am always looking for deals.

Seems every time I buy something the next week there is a better deal, enjoy what you have (its a lot better than mine)

Nice to have the 1333 FSB and Quad core

And welcome to OC3D..:wavey:

It's mainly for overclocking I assume. I havn't got any experience with dual core, but I have used Gigabyte in the past - they are good value and run pretty well but aren't the best for overclocking.

Your setup there should give you a decent speed at stock anyway so you don't need to worry about it too much tbh.

You're gonna have a nice rig there mate - Pretty jealous myself! Make sure you post up pictures in the rig gallery ;)

The IP35 is an Abit. Its just an all round better board.

Gigabyte make decent boards yes, just not quite as good as that one.

Never the less im sure you'll be happy:)

I looked up a review of the gigabyte, and it only gets a 7/10 for features compared to the abits 9/10. What kind of features does it not have?

The gigabyte still got the best budget mobo award, which taking into account I was building a budget seems like a result.

To what extent would you suggest I sell my gigabyte and buy the abit?

Thanks

Well I am not really sure about overclocking. I may not even need to. Basically the idea of this rig is to be really good so I dont have to upgrade for a long time...

Kempez: Really.. May look into that. But before I decide to send it back, is it worth sending back, or is it perfectly good for my needs?

Ah, I'm probably wrong then. I was under the impression that a lot of these boards break or maybe the Asus ones do?

Anyone have any idea what features the gigabyte doesnt have but the abit does? Do you think it is worth trying to change?

Most of the parts are set to come today so I need help...

Basically can someone give me an explanation a to why the abit is better than the gigabyte. I.E What features mine lacks.

Then taking into account I am a light gamer/intensive multitasker/intensive movie/tv show watcher, should I send it back and get the abit or will it still be sweet?

Also take into account I am on a budget..

Please be quick because when it arrives I will just rip it open and void any returns warranty thingys
