PS4 Announced, what games are you most excited for?

The thing about older gen consoles is they use "tricks" to fool you into thinking the game is better looking than it really is. Things such as locked frame rates ie 30 or even worse case 25fps. A very narrow field of view so there is less to render on the screen and because you are sitting further back from the tv it wont affect you as much. Larger gun models hide the details behind them so less to render on the fly rather than a constant texture etc. Upscaled resolutions. 720p upscaled to 1080p res.

There was an image comparison I saw a while back on bf3 on all platforms and the pc version is much better. Unfortunately I cant seem to find it now .

No AA, sky much lower, feels claustrophobic draw distance much closer... The list goes on.

It seems like nearly all of the ps4's new features are social features which I genuinely could not care less about

just heard that a facebook account is mandatory? lol. i don't have facebook and i won't get it to play on a PS4. well i wouldn't buy a PS4 anyways.

works if you're a moron and can't see the difference. Anyone with sense can tell the difference like night and day matey

There must be something wrong my end then.
Either that or i cant look past the keyboard and mouse input which i HATE!

:OOOOOO

I have a feeling angry comments are going to be coming your way soon :P

My thoughts : I'd much rather aim with my entire hand than just one thumb.

Have to agree here. Much easier to be precise and faster. If you do not like the mouse you can always hook up a 360 controller to your pc it will work fine. If you do not like that controller there are others available and also things like joysticks and wheels etc for other games. With a pc you really are not limited on your choice of input.

LOL well they can suck my balls :P

Nah the mouse bit is fine, its the walking around and keyboard stuff i don't.
I mapped the movement to a joystick on a PS3 controller, but it still felt weird to me.

Hello. Does it work like a console though? I've used controllers before on PC games and it doesn't feel the same.

FPS games..? you will get your ass handed to you if you try use a controller; and then you will realise a mouse is superior xD
Strategy games..? you have 100+ keys on a keyboard, as well as mice with additional buttons.
Anything in between, and SOMEWHERE you will have to be precise, or react quickly, making a mouse better.
Like the wireless-ness of the pad..? Get a wireless mouse.
Have some kind of disposition towards a pad feeling better..? get a slimline or mechanical keyboard, and experiment with different ways of holding a mouse.

Spend a few days getting used to this input method, and you'll never want to go back... My only thoughts are that you haven't given the mouse + keyboard a fair chance...

I find it really hard to move around with the keyboard when you also have to use it to reload, crouch, jump and all of that other stuff. I cant move anywhere near as fluidly as i can with a controller.

Seriously i think the mouse part is fine, doesn't bother me at all.

EDIT: The only reason i get beat when i use a controller to play FPS is because it doesn't work like on a console. If it did i'd be fine.

From left to right. This is going to be a very simplified tutorial xD

Pinky on shift < Ring on ''A'' < Middle on ''W'' < Index on ''D'' < Thumb on Space.

Now map your sprint in game to shift, and your crouch to ctrl.
Now if you want to sprint froward : Pinky + Middle :P
Wanna sprint and jump..? Pinky + Middle (Hold) into Thumb xDDDD
Hit ''R'' with your index to reload, it's diagonally adjacent :)

I'll stop the baby talk now, seriously mate give it a try and see that in FPSes you can move MUCH more fluidly with a keyboard, it just takes practice... Ever seen COD4 Promod gameplay..? They literally dance around the map - they're so graceful... Strafing in COD4 is done very simply on PC, but on console you'd have to hold your pad with the ''claw'' grip...

Seriously mate, put down your pad for two or three days and only play on PC, then go back and you'll notice all the imperfections, like drops to 20fps in gunfights... You won't want to go back :)

more than 512mb ram - check

I've never been a fan of consoles, but in all seriousness this is amazing news for us pc gamers. the GPU is around 1.86 tflops single precision which is like an OC'd 7850 and you have to remember that the ps3 has a modified geforce 7800 and we still see stunning visuals on that platform (play FF)

It's hardly ever been about the power of the hardware....i mean it helps but seriously you get more out of good code, fine tuning will be far easier and we will be seeing seriously mind blowing next gen visuals from this push in innovation (panta rei and UT4)

Console porting will exist obviously, but the differences maybe fractional due to the similarities between both platforms....we'll still have shitty pad friendly UI's that make you weep.
I JUST HOPE THEY STOP USING BUZZWORDS!!!!!!!!!!!

it doesnt feel the same cause everyone with a mouse and keyboard is pwning you cause a joypad is way slower than a mouse fact!!

try to get the movement right in quake with a controller. not even beginning with aim.

i doubt a 7850 only gets 1.8 TFLOPS. my 7950 gets 3 tflops and my old 6870 gets 2tflops. a 7850 should be somewhere in between.
