Will it have enough power?

Anyone know a good computer guide "how to build your own computer" thats free

Thanks

All looks good to me. I assume you've checked that the motherboard supports the mentioned CPU? I would check myself but i'm stuffing my face with pasta at the moment :p

Power should be totally fine. You'll be lucky to hit 300w with that setup :)

Jim

I ahve been on a few other forums and posted the same message and they recommend amd proscesor with my budget what do you think

Looks like a good spec to me. What components you choose depends on whether or not you want to Overclock, as well as your usage. For example if you do plan on overclocking the CPU, you're gonna need a 3rd Party Heatsink/Fan to get the best results, there are plenty out there for socket 775, some worth considering are Thermaltake Big Typ 120, Scythe Mine and if you're on a tight budget Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro is defo worth a look.

One thing I would say is that are you sure you really need Vista? Seeing as you have chosen a DX9 Graphics Card, you won't be able to use DX10, and Vista is a system resource hog, so it's maybe not the best choice for an OS if you're on a tight budget as you will get more out of your components with XP, especially seeing as you are getting 2GB of RAM (which is plenty on XP, but remember Vista eats the stuff for breakfast)

Other than that I'd say everything looks OK, but remember if you decide to upgrade your graphics card in the future, you will probably end up upgrading that PSU as well.

thanks

yeah thanks

i thinking of getting a seprate case and a different PSU

i have chosen the case but unsure on what PSU

Needs to be cheap to fit my budget but something that isnt crap and going to die

I not sure whether i am going to overclock yet but take that fan in to consideration and i proberley going to get xp i can see your point

Also is that your pc on your profile picture because it looks awesome

Tom, not sure what the other forums are smoking but stick with the Intel chip.

Much better performance. :)

Stick with XP... DX10 isn't worth it considering nothing can run it well and as Kerotan said it eat up your ram.

Look for a PSU with around 350-400watts.

Ill have a quick look for you, where are you planning of getting the PSU from and ill look for one there. ;)

Im pretty sure it will be fine.

Hopefully someone else will give their opinion to give us a better idea.

But I am sure it will be more than enough. ;)

Thanks Lol, it's far from it mate thats just a blurry camera and some cobbled-together UV cabling :p It's actually a right mess and specs are naff atm but it will do the job till I can afford something better.

I think you made a good decision about getting a seperate PSU, that way you can be sure you're buying a quality item. Anything from Antec should be fine, as others have recommended.

About that case I wouldn't recommend it personally. I think your original choice was much better, as it had a 120mm exhaust fan, whereas the EV case has 2*80mm which will be noisy(er) and probably wouldn't shift much more air anyway. Also the design of the chassis is such that the airflow through the fans will be hindered, because of the spiral like design. Look for ones with a cutout mesh like your original choice and you will get better results when it comes to airflow, and therefore cooling. I would go for a case with better features rather than one with a side window, as it's no good being able to see all your components if they are toasting away! From my experience you have to be spending pretty hard money before you can get a decent case with a side window as well, if you'rer on a budget go for the best airflow you can afford, plus that coolermaster ain't bad lookin either.
