More surgery!

Ready for my fridge guy, a little work, then it's of to Canus Plastics to bring it back to snuff.

I have a friend in refridgeration that will do the mods, essentially the design is mine though. Same gas, R404. I will be modding two heads and they will look the same. :)

So I gather you dissected the Prommie head?

Did you salvage the heater for the head?

Did you use the mounting kit and heater at the back?

I may have more questions. :)

Yeah I removed the head and didn't salvage the heaterpad I just insulated it up but when fitting it I did crack the core of my x850 xtpe so I wasn't happy but the unit did work great there is only just under an inch clearance on the dfi board so do remember that when you fit the heads tight squeeze

Yeah, I know about the space, very little to play with after the backplate and shims with head mount too. 1 5/8 less 5/8 leaves an inch to play with and that's exactly what I'm contending with right now. I will get it to fit and the Prommie heads will be refinished with red acrylic like the shims I have. :)

Ok, all is ready for the fridge guy now. Once the mods are done I will take the ends to Canus Plastics and have them mold a red acrylic case around the unit, the same finish as the shims.

After much calculating and like fatty said there was only one inch left to play with after shims and backplate etc... Not much space there, so I will be doing a side entry to the heads. The lines will come in from the back of the cards.

What's this?

More Info!

Getting ready to design the Prommie circuit. There will be much involved with this circuit, such as an emergency shutdown in case a device fails! I will also have a metering system that will read volts, amps and wattage from the power supply, video cards and Prommies. :)

I will work on this during the week and update as I go. :)

IM003046.jpg

The meter will read AC and DC up to three devices at a time, great for PSU secondary volts. amps, power, video card too... I will need shunt resistors, current transformers and external circuit boards that go with the meter. The unit even comes with a windows based software!

Prommie mods are Wednesday morning, I will post in the evening.

Just to make sure, I indulged in a digital caliper.

I had to make certain everything would fit. Yeah sure, I just wanted a new toy! :slap:

I'm not to happy about the first Prommie I bought, I may reconsider using heaters now. :(

noob Q....whats the white block :)

Styrofoam, very compacted. :)

As you can see in this pic, the heater track design is too concentrated in the middle, they should have spaced it out with less track.

Just in case, it's in the head of this unit at the end of the black hose.

Mate- this is awesome stuff - firstly, I thought you were designing a triple cascade rig - but now I see that you are in fact making a stacker system of GT's.

Lets get it straight I can see Sli GPU's so I am guessing that one unit will be for the sli - which means one will be for the CPU - wots the other one for? Or is it one for each GPU?

It never seems to amaze me the stuff we see here - this is no exception.

Good luck, I cant wait to see the results.

Single stage to all processors. 1 to CPU and 1 to each GPU. :)
