Project Eepy

nah, it's as tight as it's ever going to be. :(

I see what you mean about the compression of the o-ring but looking at the other 90 deg fitting, they don't compress the rings as much as the plugs do for whatever reason. I think the angle is a result of the photo, in real life it's straight.

Noob Question: I've brimmed the res whilst the pump has been on, should I be leaving a gap/brimming it when the pump is off (i.e no pressure in the loop)?

I ended up draining half the loop and removing the fitting. The O-ring looked fine, had a little bit of rubbish stuck on it which might have caused the problem. Anyway I had a spare so I replaced it, cleaned the fitting threads and the threads on the GPU block and put it all back together.

Filled it up leaving a pocket of air in the res this time. And over 24hrs later it seems good. No leaks so far, just lots of tiny air bubbles :( but they will go over time.

Tonight I turned the fans on for the first time. The Scythe GTs are amazing! They shift so much air and create so little noise. The Alpenfohns are a bit crap, a little loud but they were brought for looks. Will put them on at 5v or 7v (depending where they will start from). GTs will be at 9v most likely.

Hopefully that little bit of crap removed from the Oring will solve the problem.

Since you brimmed the res while the pump was on, when the pump switches off it puts alot of pressure in the loop and is probably why the leak popped up. I think you will be fine now so fingers crossed. Nothing is worse than draining a loop to fix a small issue like this.

ive learned in the past that its always good to order extra fittings. Considering the quality and cost of bitspower, im shocked that I have had to replace far more of those than I did with EK.

Sorry about the delay in posting the final result! It's been a rather busy week!

So after I fixed that slow leak, I let it run for another couple days and all now seems good. It's been over a week now and everything is still good.

Putting in the cables was a pain, due to the complete lack of space for them. They go either side of the pump/res, pushed right up against it. I spent half a day or so just trying to get the cables tidy and neat enough so I could get the back panel on. Getting the back panel on was a tough one alright! A small down point for this case is the space behind the MB panel and the back door panel isn't too much (plus when you factor in the sound proofing foam on the door, there really isn't much space).

The cables that needed to fit in!

What the back first looked like when all the cables were initially installed.

The pump/res is in there somewhere :P

The CPU block seems to be the place for air bubbles to collect. I've been rotating the case for a couple days now to try and shift them, but more just collect there. One day I might get the CPU clear of air :P

I decided to run the GTs at 7v and all the others are at 5v. The loudest thing is the pump, which is running at speed 3. Once the case panels are on the air flow is fairly low. But there is that much cooling in there that the temps are fine.

And lastly I knocked out one of the LEDs in the GPUs and I can't get it back in place (fingers too big!) so it's sorta just under the GPU, still looks okay but not perfect.

Anyway the long overdue photos of it finished... note these were taken with my phone's camera (like all the pictures here), so they really don't do it justice!

Eepy :) ... now time to OC :P

The picture makes the CPU look 'over lit'. It isn't, that's just the picture.

Those fans work really well with the black/white colouring.

Arty snap :) Shame I can't actually see the GPU block design from my desk seat :(

SLI connections. The clear plexi GPU terminals were worth it.

X99 chipset, the MB does tie in the build nicely... Plus the reflections on the GPUs :)

The 2 Samsung 850 EVOs in RAID 0... how long before I replace them with NVME drives?!?

Connections between the two rads. I really like the EK badges on the plugs.

The current desk setup... Going to get a 1440 gsync monitor to run with my existing 1080p ones. Still need to get a multi-monitor mounting arm.
