cool ill be going halfords in the morning to get the SP before work so ill look at that ill probs be doing 2 coats base 3 coats paint 2 laq.
if your going to be flatting the base back you might want to apply few more coats as i dont think two will be enough to stop you throw sanding throw. id go for more like 4 or 5 if you can. with the colour you just want to keep going till it even all over and the colour you want. you want to apply a fair amount of lacquer as this is what gives you your depth and shine, also the more you have on there the more you have at a later date to work with, for example if it gets scratched you can flat and polish it to remove the marks if you have put enough lacquer on there
