I know I have been a little quiet over the past week or so well waiting for a case for nipples etc.......

Anyroad I got a parcel in the post yup direct from Mr Chilly1 himself I now have a fresh stash of chilly1 heads so time to build :)

Project SLY ONE will be my first dedicated duel headed sli unit the new sli heads are only 1" in diameter but they look like baby cpu heads :) they are still made exactly the same as well :)

Sounds interesting...

...and expensive!

What ever happened to the Chilly1 Extreme? It used to be in the EP shop, but now its just a blank white page?!

They are still available at special request as for pics not yet I didnt takt the cam to work today maybe tomozz and yes it will be a converted gt :)

Yes for those interested in the Chilly1 Extreme, we can be "commissioned" to produce the units. I am also in the process of updating the website, and when that is ready I will be updating some of the empty sections of the site and adding a couple of amazing "Uber" systems!

are the microblocks much easier to mount than the normal Chilly blocks?

ive got a pair of them coming over for a gpu cascade ready for crossfire.:D

yes they will be easier who built your cascade you or did some one build it for you ??

I also have another spare pair so anyone????

Fatty,

Any Piccies?

Also, what sort of insulation is required around the card to prevent condensation?

Can SLI be added to MACH2 GT so that CPU and SLI is all supercooled?

What do you need to build a cascade system? How big is the system once it's built? What are the Pro's and cons of cascade?

Do the lights go dim when you power-up? :)

Ok I am unsure how to build cascade at the moment I will build one oh yes I will build on I have a 1hp single phase scroll compressor maybe 2 loool lights shouldnt dimm too much

Pro's uber fookin cold

Cons need lots of insulation

same with sli on the cards you need to insulate the pooper out of them

As for sli and single head may not be do able on a gt but on a 1hp scroll compressor it should be possible with good temps hmmmmm

May build a triple or cascade over the next few months :)

*Serious drooling* If I lived anywhere near you, I WOULD be asking for a summer placement! Fair enough, I dont know that much *read as..nothing* but damn, I`d be willing to learn! :)

Kenny :)

Now thats interesting.

If I spray with PCB lacquer - do I invalidate my warranty?

Would that effect the re-sale value of the card (seems how I usually change within 9 months of purchasing)?

Is there anyhting less permanent that can be used?

Okay so here's a little though I am having now.

What if I switch from watercooled SLI and phase cooled CPU

To

Phase cooled SLI and watercooled CPU

Or

Could the Mach2 be modded to SLI and modded to work as a waterchiller also?

What are the Pros and cons of using the 1hp compressor Fatty?

it isnt built yet just waiting for the blocks and need to get gases as atm ive only got r404a left, i need to get some r410 to mix into the first stage to bump up the capacity and a second stage gas prob ethylene. just need to find someone who will sell less than 10kg at a time

Cascades are just more than one freezer, where you cool the one to cool the next to allow gasses to be used that can't normally be compressed at ambient temps...

Building a Cascade should only be done by a Fridge guy (Like Fatty) and even then they're pretty complicated, really...it can take quite a bit to get all the charging right, and if you want it automatic, there's a mess of controller work to do, and if it's manual, you've got to power up each stage at the right time to get it all working...

2 stage seems to get you -80ish done right...that's FACE temp...and 3 stage...can get -120 or so...

Tom Holck is selling one for around £2500 and that's really a bargain for a fully automatic unit, just so you can get an idea of how much really go's into it...

BUT at -80 to -90 (Macci's dual GPU cascade) got over 15k on his Crossfire testbed and that's on some pretty developmental drivers...

You need serious insulation for that, and you should also be voltmodding to take advantage of the temps, and load up the evap so it doesn't just frost back on ya...

After a go on a cascaded unit, or even on a really cold single unit, and all the mess that's made by it, your card is only really sellable to another oc'er lol

Benching is an expensive hobby if you want the best...

So many questions lool OK a mach can be modded into a water chiller if youlook at frozen nipples that will give you an indication or what I can or have done nipples isnt quite finnished yet .......

Yes going from water to serious water ie water chiller you will need to insulate against condensation same as with phase

The pro's of using a 1hp compressor is I should be able to stick 3 heads on it and loose no capacity cons is its bigger than a mach compressor and wont fit into a mach chassis

now the part you have all been waiting for head shots

LOL those lil heads are so cute ;)

Nicely trimmed fingernails there Fatty :p

How much larger are the head surfaces than a GPU core? I suppose as long as the mounting is exact, direct contact shouldn't be a problem, but my Vapo's head was so small I didn't trust it so used a coldplate...

Looks great! Cant wait for the Load temp results with a standard Danfoss compressor!
