Project: SLY ONE

Yup that is true there Phil I had to trim near on a 1 cm off the little buggers ( this was chilly1's recomendation ) for dfi mounting the two that are fitted together have already been trimmed and are just awaitng a unit to mount them on then the unit will be off to another happy customer :)

Just a reminder all there are two of these little baby's up for grabs :)

Yeah i saw on XS that even the small ones had to be trimmed, when you said SLI evaps i was wondering if he has shrunk them even more.

How much difference (if any) does the cut down evap make over the non cut down (and the full size chilly1 if you know the comparison)

the little heads are the same as the big ones for loads less than 250-300w they just dont handle the high loads aswell due to the reduce internal area.

Found out off some one who was using one to cool an x800xtpe that the smaller heads dont touch the gpu shim therefor dont spread the cooling around the card as much as the larger heads used too which makes it easier to insulate the card :)

Pics of the build :)

You beauty!!

Fatty man, thats looking the puppie privates mate, looks like it could be the tool to break some more records.

I have thoughts of 600+ clock core clock speeds and several amazed faces appearing on EP_UK.

Dont forget to log them score sin the mbot challenge.

Keep us updated fatty mate -I continiue to read with great interest.

Fatty does some of the work for Extreme Prometeia mate.

I'd love to see the temps and oveclocks possible with this beauty.

It begs the question if 3d gaming is your thing would you convert your mach2 to this SLI beauty and change the CPU to being watercooled?

They reckon 3Ghz is possible with Sand Diego FX55 and watercooling, couple that with 2x ultra's doing 560+ core clocks

It would be intersting to see if that rig (phase cooled cards, watercooled cpu) 3dmark scores are higher than they are with watercooled cards (say 460/1200) and San Diego FX Phase cooled running at 3.5Ghz.

Maybe fatty mate, you could have a word with the buyer and ask them to becch the standard unit first?

I will watch the progress and report on this with great interest.

Cheers

Agreed, but if you can afford an sli modded Prommie - watercooling your CPU would be:

a) Inexpensive in comparison

and

b) almost essential if you don't want your cpu to hold back the performance of the GFX cards.

You can't really have one withou the other..... can you?

The sli unit will be on the floor next to a chilly1 unit for the cpu from what I have been told :) If I had the cash I would do all the benching myself but each time I take a stock cooler off a gcard I crack the core lol

I think another good one would be nipples run flat out on cpu gpu and chipset I think that would be a treat but maybe I need extreme volunteer to try out some of the more extreme units :) or maybe even my possible triple head 1hp unit :)

GO ON YOU KNOW YOU WANT TOO:D

I've had a Clawhammer FX55 @ 3ghz with good water cooling so its a dead cert with a San Diego.

That SLI unit is going to be working along with a chilly1 on the cpu - results will be in the top ten.
