Project: Sasori - A military m-ITX Build

So here we have another update, this time with some hardware.

Inet.se goes in with some discount on parts for the build I have still not decided which of the fans I´m going to use, any Idea?

I'm soon done with all the drawings, at least enough to order the aluminum plates so I can get some in to the CNC :)

Sorry this is a little off topic - but can you put any cooler other than the stock one or watercoolers on an ITX board while having a GPU in too? Just looks to me like it would overlay

Been bugging me for a while that

I'd say it depends on the board, with this asrock board it looks as you won't be able to fit a big tower heatsink, the Asus P8Z77-I Deluxe for example has the socket more in the centre of the board

Still looks a tight fit but fair enough. I think the H100 or similar would be the way to go if you didnt want to make a custom loop on it

Yeah that would probably be the best way to go with this board but I think there might be some air cooler out there that can work.

they are supposed to go in the bottom blowing up through the radd and the whole case and out the top, I'm thinking of going push/pull on the radd.

Then I would say the air penetrators, best thing to do would be to try both if you can be bothered :p

yeah hopefully I will be trying them both on there I just hope that the bitfenix spectrepro fans fit the radd :P I have tried to find someone that actually have tested them on the Phobya 200mm radd.

So now when I'm working on the last steps of the design I have started thinking on were I'm gonna place the pump and which pump I'm going to use.

Any Ideas? ;)

I'm thinking of a D5 vario to get the best sound/performance, but It's a big pump.
The other way is a DDC pump.

What do you think?

So a small update!

Hi everyone!

I just wanted to let you know that, things are moving on in the background.

Right now I'm waiting for some prices of the Aluminum for this build, I got one Price but that was higher then for my Silent Shadow build almost twice as high!

I hope that I can have a price tomorrow that might be more reasonable.

I have also started a Facebook page that you can follow for more smaller updates like this And there might be some contests in the future as the Likes go up ;)

There will be going up some more pictures there soon.

See you in another update!

Okej so long time since the last update now.

But I have now ordered all the aluminum plates and I hope to have them before the weekend.

There will also be a design change with the handle, I will be using a handle from a ammobox. I will also use the lock as to hold the lid of the chassi inplase :)

I hope to get going now when I get somethings to work with.

So the project isn't dead yet ;)

Long awaited Update! :D

So hi everyone!

I know it have been some time since my last update on the project, but I haven't had time in my schedule, until now!

So all the aluminum is now in my possession and I hope to get everything rolling now.

I wont be unpacking the aluminum until it goes in to the machines or worked on in another way, so here are some pictures of the aluminum packed in cardboard and plastic wrap:

Hehe yeah ;)
I don't want it to get to many dents before I get to work on it ;)

At least you can hint the Aluminum ;)

I just ordered the Radiator for the build a 200mm one :) it should arrive to me tomorrow and then I can get going on some other aspects of the design for the bottom part of the case :)
update tomorrow with some pictures :)

Update, with pictures!

Hey you all!

I know there is some time between the updates of the project, but I work as hard as I can to keep this going!

Yesterday I ordered the radiator that I will be using for this project. It's a 200mm beast of radiator!

I haven't had the time to test-mount the fans yet but soon I will.
I also ordered a start button and one I/O-panel that should arrive on Friday.

Oh I almost forgot to mention that I weighed the aluminum and it weighs in at around 8 kg (befor the CNC work has been done!)

But here you have som pictures of the rad ;)

Long time since the last update!

Hi everyone!

Sorry for the lack of updates I have been busy with some other personal stuff. But now Im back and working on Sasori, The design is almost ready some smaller things that I need to look over and get done before I can plan time to put the pieces in the machines :)

Some changes has also been done,

1. Support for normal ATX psu is now implemented :)
2. Support for cards with 3 PCI plates.
3. Window to show the graphiccard cooler from the side :)
4. The motherboard tray has been moved back so that the case can support higher graphiccards och other expansion cards.

I will make some .jpg files of the design late this week.

Hope to start the CNC work soon, cant wait to have all the plates done so I can start building this :D

Until the next major update I would love to see more thoughts of this project :)
