Project: Nuclear Fission

Thank you

I have the choice of two radiators.

The Black Ice GTX360 which will be mounted externally because I am using Panaflo fans

Other option is an INTERNALLY mounted XSPC EX480

Both rads are pretty much the same price, but the GTX360 is $4 more... So yeah, the same price...

If you can fit it, then a 480 would be sweet XD If it's cheaper, even sweeter

The GTX 360 is the super thick rad whereas the EX480 is slim. I will be using Panaflo Ultra High speed fans, cooling two 460's and either an i7 3700k or i7 3820.

In that case, the 360 would be a better option if performance is all that matters, An interior 480 would look so much better, and there won't be that bigger difference in temps. Would the 460s be @1GHz by any chance?

Which fans for the XSPC RX360 radiator should I get? I will either get two $20 fans such as the 1800RPM Gentle Typhoons or FOUR $10 fans for push-pull

I like quiet fans, but I will also be using a fan controller, so yeah

These are the fans which will cost around $10 each so I can buy four and use them in push-pull

Scythe SlipStream 1600RPM - http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=14171

BitFenix Spectre - http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=17463

CoolerMaster SickleFlow 2000rpm - http://www.pccasegea...roducts_id=8135

Another interesting combination may be this;

Arctic Cooling F12 Pro - http://www.pccasegea...oducts_id=15300

These would push the air through the radiator

Then the ones without the fan guard would be used to pull that air through and out of the rad

If it is possible to remove the fan guard from the F12 Pro fans, I would prefer to get four of them and just take the fan guard off two of them and replace the guard with fan grills

I just noticed the Nexus BeamAir fan guard things and I am quite interested;

Are they worth the price or should I just buy some simple fan grills?

Those graphs are interesting, turns out the black ice GT is the best. I use the bitfenix spectre fans in my pc and I have to say they are great, very quiet and not too bright, although I don't know much about about static pressure

out of those fans, id get the sickleflows or the xigmateks, they have the best cfm and static pressure. and I would just buy a 360 rad grill instead of fans with them built in

those aiflow things look interesting although i doubt they would fit under a radiator

Black Ice is only best if you use high RPM fans by the looks of it. 3000 RPM fans will be very loud, if you use 3 or 4 of them.

Not where I usually look after (Australia), but i'll try to get an ETA for you by monday.

However, If i have to go with the choices above for my personal rad, spectre pro's will be at the bottom of the list. they're mainly for a silent case fan. The CM Sickleflows ARENT the advertised 19db, i have experience with them. it sounds more like 29.

As for the slip streams, they're too loud and push less air for their own good."meh" fans.

I would go with the xigmatek or the gentle typhoons. I don't remember which model off the top of my head, but the cougar brand fans have good specs on them too.

Thanks, PC Case Gear if possible

So I have decided on an internal 480 radiator, but haven't chosen which one...

I need a slim 480 rad and was thinking either the Swiftech MCR420 QP or the XSPC EX480

Just from the look of them the Swiftech seems more suitable because of lower fin density.

I am using 3000RPM Panaflo's (which arrived today and are AMAZING!!!), although they are loud so I will be running them at around 1500 - 2000RPM

Correct me if i'm wrong but higher density fins on the rad require high RPM fans to be effective.

If there is another rad that anyone recommends, please do.
