Project: GCSE Grab!

Hello guys!

This is my project log thingy for my GCSE DT coursework.

Some of you may already know that my coursework is a Custom case!

So my idea is: I will have the frame on the outside. And the Aluminium sheet on the inside.

So kinda like a picture frame.. The case is roughly the same size and a Li Lian.

So far I am happy with the results! Care to comment?

I like it. Its always fun to watch people building stuff.

Make sure when you paint it that you prep the alum well as its harder to stick paint to alum than steel.

The Frame peices won't be techancally attached. All sheet will be bolted to the frame. The bolts will have a rounded head so it will look like a submarine window.. If you get where im going..

I am still working on an idea for the sides. As in opening and stuff.

Maybe hindged I don't know yet!

Its going to be a tower.. not sure how big yet.. on paper it looked okay, it looking bigger in real life!

So far so good!

I think the hard bit will be cutting the I/0 back panel and PCI slots..

I am gunna have a huge window on one side, and maybe a decal of some sort on the other.

I will use car paint for it, to get a nice finish!

for me the easiest way is to remove the I/O panel with the PCI slots from a old case and just rivet it into your new panel.

lining everything up (height/depth of the mobo) is the hard part.

This could save you a BUNCH of headaches

Becuase this is GCSE I have to do all the work!

Which one? The hole next to the I/O plate? Thats a 120mm fan hole!

Then theres the PSU, PCI slots(not finsihed yet).

Looking good mate, how are you holding the front of the cd drive in (is there another support bracket out of sight and how are you gonna hold the hdd in?

odd shaped hole was the psu slot.

Still waiting for my alu to turn up and then its all hands to the dremmel on a similar project.
