Project "Fatboss"

Intro:

This build is going to make some news to the guys at "Fatbosstv", you can find them on youtube and thay make movies on the game "World of Warcraft". After getting along whit the to mad people, my mind startet to thing, why not make a small build. To show them some support, this will not be the most powerfull build never. Some of the parts i will be useing is old parts from the good Z77 chip set time. But the colur is a part of this build and they normal use blue and white in the logo.

The idear have startet as a joke, but then took some to to make some "tags" to my Astro A40 and they love them. So now i will build a full build, just to have a unik build.

What is the plan whit this build?

The plan is to build a small powerfull build in the coming case : Corsair 240 Air in white. But it will not stop here, have joined up whit "Pexon PC" and he will have the work to get my cables done and the same whit my fans.

But now when i will use blue and white as colur in this build, then i was like. Why the hell not also watercool it, so i'm going to use the lovely AX240 rads in white and will look after some blocks to one or two 780 cards Have not set my mind on that yet.

But the items i will be useing as right now, some thing can change in the build:

Cpu, Intel i5-3570k
Motherboard, i dont know yet. Need to fine the right one first.
Gpu, MSI 780 gaming - Will maybe go SLI.
SSD, Corsair or Kingston. But will go Raid 0 whit it.
HDD, will but 2 * 3TB WD green in the build.
Psu, Corsair 760
Cables, Custom from Pexon PC.
Watercooling kit, XSPC rads, and the rest is not sure yet.

This list may change over the time, but will keep the post up to date on this.

When do i think to have this done?

My plan is to have the build ready as soon that i can, most of the build is going to wait on the Corsair case. But then i have time to get my parts home.

Will start slowly on the build after summer, but i'm getting alot more idears on items i will be useing. So just keep your head around and you will see the build grow all the time after the summer

Update time !

Have been out and doing some small shopping to my build here, not any tech stuff. But something that i will like to use whit the build, after moving the office to the first floor. I needed a new mousepad and it was a hard call on this.

But in the end, it was Qpad there won..

I also have a soft spot for cables and power cables is the very very soft spot in my heart.

But was very lucky to get this cables very very cheep.

That was all from now, but the planing on my build is going a head very very fast now. But there will come more later on

Üpdate time:

Hallo dear mates, time to show a new part to the system. I know there will come more this week, but you need to wait on that

Here on the forum, i have been seeking some information on the new Asus STX II but no one was there to reply on that SHAME ON YOU ALL MATES !!

But then i was, what the hell. I can get the first STX or the second whit in 10 £ here in Denmark. Then why not go after the new one, so here is the lovely card

Yes this is a flip box, i do like the look of the card. It just look like the first STX. But cant be sure, never ownd that soundcard

What is this ? Some small chips, need to see what i can out of my sounds whit this kit

The way they make these cables at is to secure you the power appears. Without losing any strength. But the head of the matter is that I love the looks of it

Update time !..

They can happen many strange things in life, it has also been made with this project. My sense was clearly that this build should be blue / white most of it. But have had to realize that getting your hands on an ASUS motherboard with a chip from Z77 is difficult in Denmark, so have had to think about new ways and it's got something fun out of: D

This project is now being turned into "Fatboss goes Toxic" and why have I chosen the name?

Those who know "WoW - World of Warcraft" also know that the poison or fire which is in the game. Have decided to put my focus on the poison in the game.

So I decided to look for a green motherboard and the only thing I could find was from Gigabyte, but they have of course chosen to walk away from the green to the Z97 chipset. So my choice fell on the Z87 chipset, but with my luck, the local IT / HiFi store opted to go for HiFi equipment now. So they sold out of their PC equipment very very cheap: D

So got their hands on some products at a price I did not expect at all.

Come to spend 159 £ on 3 things. As I will link below, you must say if I have made a good deal or not.

Thanks, the plan is to get this ready very very fast. But some of the items i needed is not in store yet. So need to wait and also have to wait on the fans from Corsair

So true, i also ask the the shop if the price was right. But i was, they needed the place in the shop to some new items to there HiFi this monday. So all needed to be out of the door Saturday

Update time:

Some items have been here the last week, but my IRL have taken all my time. I hate when i can't use my time on this build

Still working around some some things to this build, but need to chat whit some people before i go on whit my plans on that part.

But what have I to show you ? Only two items right now, hope to get more tomorrow or the next day.

But the items is from Corsair, so big thanks to them. When no one here in Denmark, had the memory i needed in stock

The next thing is some fans to the build, only have them in white, but that is fine whit me

Time to get a part list update:

There have been a change in my items list, but i think it will makte it alot better and will try to get a new video card to my build also. But it is hard to get my hard on a reference GTX780 / GTX 780Ti. But will keep my eyes upen on that point still

But time to some love parts that have come in this week, first off i will say thanks to TTL. To have show off, what you can do whit 4 SSD in raid 0.

So my order this week was 4 x Corsair LX 128 GB SSD, and the price was not that bad. 420 DKK, so around 43 £ apiece.

But seens i have alot of music, i needed to some HDD in the case also. So have when whit WD 3TB drives, cant hear them normaly in my old case.

Next thing to do:

Get some cables from Pexon PC, so i can start to put more time in this baby. Need my gaming PC back, not fun to use your laptop to "Diablo 3 only right now"

This was all from now, will be back. When i have more stuff to show you all.

Update time:

Not the bigges update ever, but have been testing the items i have to the build and they all work "more info on them all later"

But one thing, that i needed to test most was my SSD in raid 0. That was some very good numbers after my head, when we talk on the low 128 GB SSD from the series LX

So here is a picture of my small test and yes it has been maked on windows 8

Hope to have more picture when i need to build the case up, have some work out site my house

Pexon PC and Coldzero is doing some work to me, hope to get it done very very fast
