hey guys

at one time i opend my taskmanager i loked at processis and i saw many of them twice or event 5time the same name (like iexplore.ex or svchost.ex and many others) i had my windows once reinstald and in begin i had 35 processis then i instaled some softwere that i needed ih had 42 proces at most now i have 54 proces. so wath i like to know is this normal?? if not why is it like that?? and houw can i fixit?

svchost is a windows process, ignore it. Alongside the process it should say what type it is (system / local / *login name*). The ones with the login name are the ones that are technically your fault and you can usually end at your leisure. Unless you have several internet explorers open i think you may have a virus

Another thing to make sure is that you are the only account on the machine.

To stop the processes from starting at boot go to run and type msconfig. Go across to Startup and from there you should be able to untick some of the larger ones.

I don't like to boast but on idle my PC has 16 processes.

And said by llwyd svchost is part of windows and usaly is running more than once. Each on is doing a different thing.

Iexeplorer.exe is Internet explorer, so how many windows of that is open at the same time.. will add to what is in the task manager.

You will need to tell us the others that are running more than once. Becasue they could be harmful.. Program don't normaly show are more than once. Unless there are like 5 open..

now i have ati x1600pro grafics and i see the softwere that belongs to ati ( ati2evxx.exe at most like 4time, CLI.exe at most 5times) and then i see some names thet i never saw like AGRSMMSG.exe, Alcxmntr.exe,ctfmon.exe and wmpnscfg.exe but this one i think is a piece of windows player i know that those with system behind are ok i don't wory about them so much but fo other i do wory so any IDEE????

ps i newer open same programs more then once except iexeplorer but ih ver7 of it so i alwys make new tab open
