I just came back from belgium with nvidia GT 520 1GB DDR3 from twintech and I tried to play on Counter-strike source with it and I only get like 80FPS.

I got 4GB of ram ddr2

Pentium D 820 3GHz (dual core)

Nvidia geforce 520 1GB DDR3

But i'm still getting 80 fps...

P.S: I didn't know where to post problems... sorry about the wrong place if so

EDIT: I've tried it on another computer and running 500+ fps i don't understand everything now...

could be a driver issue try removing them and then running driver sweeper and re-installing them

The weirdest thing is: i run WoW @ Ultra easily and other games... it's only on source engine and it did the same thing with my friend's GPU on my computer

Have you done any mods to CS at all? I had a mate who did some reskinning of weapons and his frame plummeted dramatically.

What FPS were you getting before this happened? the 520 is not that good of a card anyway I wouldn't expect much out of it.

I'm not so sure, on paper it lays between a (in old money) 9500 and 9600GT.

Should be plenty for CS surely ?

(haven't been on it in ages)

I don't know to be honest I just know it's an entry level card but as you you said it should be enough for CS:S, 80 FPS isn't bad though.

i used to play CS:S with nvidia geforce 6200 at 80 fps actually.

On the other computer I had 500-600 fps... thats why i'm worried

i think i found the problem... my GPU needs a 400 watt minimum psu and i have a 350 watt... i just changed to a Safe *something* 465 watt 2 fans and it's doing A lot of noise :/

Err that doesn't sound good....what do you mean by safe something? sounds like you need a new psu anyway mate. you can get away with lower watts 500w-600w but make sure your buying quality stuff or you'll regret it.

For example my orginal barebones pc came with a 700w psu that you could pick up for around 30quid which died after a weeks usage on a phenom x4 and 5770 my current 600w was i think around 60 and manages all my current parts easily i5 2500k@4.5 and 570SC.

Usually the minimum requirment is what is recommended and not the minimum because they don't wanna get sued for saying. ah you only need 500w for this card then it goes boom with 500w becuase this person has like 12hdds and 990x oced to like 6ghz(Like TTL

) with a full wc loop with 2 360mm rads

maybe an over exaduration but you see what im saying, they don't want the extra hassle of dealing with problems like that. For the true minimum and reccomended for your pc, look for a psu watt calculator

Now if your really really really bored read this....only joking im finished now
