Problems folding GTX 680

Hey guys, I'm actually not in the OC3D folding team but I was hoping you could help me anyway.

I just got my GTX 680 and I cant get it to work with fah v7.

I downloaded the GPUs.txt and saved it to the Data Directory folder, went in to configure>slots and did add, checked the GPU ring and pressed add, then I put in client-type - beta but I keep getting this error:

The v7 client will still see the 680 without the GPUs.txt file and without the client-type beta, it just won't be able to fold and it will be detected as a Fermi GF110. Once you get the v7 client to see your card, then add GPUs.txt and the beta flag.

What drivers are you using? I assume you're on Windows 7? Your card works fine in games, right?

version 301.24 and runs great on everything else

You could try the official drivers instead of the beta drivers. F@H and drivers don't often agree. When you find a set that's working it's best to stay with them lol.

alright..try an 'old' fix.. uninstall the v7 client (also kill all the settings)

Reinstall with the first client selected as a GPU (during the install).

not sure if this trick still works, but this was the solution of many GPU problems in the older versions of the v7 client.

you cant select a GPU in the install? thats odd.. did you choose custom install?

I chose the GPU during install but it only came with a uniprocessor

That is definitely a weird one..

And I'm sorry to say, that I have nothing...

perhaps a new download of the client, althoug you probably just did this.

Another thing could be the windows install, although I wouldn't how as it is recognized in windows.

Other than that the only thing I can think of is to ask at the source, which would mean the foldingforum.org.

Unless someone else here can think of something.

Only thing I can think of is to uninstall the v7 client, then uninstall your current nVidia drivers and install the 301.10 drivers using the clean install option. Then try installing the v7 client again.

Those are the drivers I am using without a problem.

I did that... I'll just wait until it's not on beta anymore. Do you know when they will be ready with that? Sorry I don't know how to put it into words but hope you understand what I mean :/

That's not even the problem you are having. The v7 client could always see a card, it just got it wrong. You are at the point where it won't even recognize the card. You have some kind of other issue going on here.

ok guys I did it. I just changed the gpu-index from -1 to 1 anddragged the txt file to the log box and boom... just happened...

Thought it was a longshot but since I'd already tried everything else then why not
