Prize Rig!! :D

I have a few high paying clients this week too so it shouldn't be long before i get my own GPU and/or SSD, i think i will go for SSD first though as i am getting into the habit of leaving my rig on at night folding so i need all my data on flash because my hdd is noisy and getting to the age that it could maybe fail if it is on 24/7. Ill keep my eyes on ebay for a GPU as i found 2x 560tis for £130 but i didn't have the money at the time so i lost them :( plenty more fish in the sea though so hopefully i will find a deal like that again.

Look what arrived today...

Ignore the fact it is thermaltacky its just what one of my clients wanted. Wouldn't be possible without Tom, thank you.

Had a look at the fractal design node 605 and i think it would look nice with a window on top next the amp i plan on getting. Trying to resist it though because it would be pretty pointless, damn you fractal for having such nice cases
I need to save my money for a new GPU and SSD so i can send Tom his ones back. I might get 2x msi 580s as i have found some for £200 which isn't have bad. The whole reason i made this post though is, i had a look at AIO coolers just to see if there was any deals on and i found a refurb h100 for £40 which i might go for but then i found this:

4x the price but it looks pretty awesome and gives the option to do full WC loop in the future. Is it worth it? or should i just keep my current cooler and save up for a full loop? I can just imagine the tubes and the greenness being so nice though and it would be quieter and cooler.

I think OC3D has done a review of the Eisberg and honestly it wasn't that good iirc. Better off getting the H100 for now (good deal I guess) and then upgrade to a custom loop later. Can always get a Twinpack of SP120s with it and paint the rings green :)

Btw, that PSU render is sick :o

Just checked the review and it seems pretty meh, i think i will just stick with my dark night cooler, i defiantly want to watercool at somepoint though. Im going to grab a couple of 120mm fractal fans because they are next to silent and would look nice with the rest of the fans in my build. Not a fan of the XSPC fans they are really noisy.

Thanks :)

EDIT:
£130! Potential...

Those kits are pointless unless you want to add a rad. Performs the same as a H100i if not worse. Its just about looks.

I could see my self getting a 360 rad for the roof and a 240 extra thick rad for the front but thats long in the future, my current cooler is just a few degrees of the h100 anyway so ill just leave it be. :)

The rig is now on my desk so i managed to get a decent picture of the ram, near enough impossible to get a picture of both the dimms light up at the same time though the way they pulse. Looks damn beautiful though.

Very nice Dale , I like the choice of ram.
Didn't you get 2 strips of ram? Or is only one lit up in the pic?

Thanks, Its just one lit up in the picture, the way it pulses it is near impossible to get a picture with them both lit.

i knew that ram would look the dogs bollox with the sniper board, glad you went with it dude

Thanks, am i glad i got it too now that i have it, it looks 10x better than the pictures.

Gotta admit, that looks pretty good! Can't you make them... not pulsate though?
It would drive me nuts, especially since they're not 'synchronised' :(

As far as i know there isn't way but ill have a look maybe there is a way in the bios or something

Just found a 580 that looks in reach, it has an ugly cooler but that's nothing some spray cans and wrap cant fix. It doesn't have as good Texel Rate as a 650 but everything else is double by the looks of things, as well as power consumption... but what can you do, it has all the power i need and i might even get another one down the line and then its watercooling time...

Well, it'll definitely out-perform a 650 (think it's along the lines of a 660 Ti? Is this a 3 GB version, or only 1.5?

Honestly, if you make the graphic thing black it might look pretty good, actually ;)

Only a 1.5

I might unscrew the cooler and put it down to the body shop to get a matte black coat so it matches the motherboard heatsinks and the cpu cooler :)
