Prize Rig!! :D

Erhm... didn't the 4770k come with a cooler? That thing can't even be installed in a wrong way so you could always test with that thing on there?

I just got it in the motherboard because if it was in the box with a cooler it would of got broken

isnt there a bios switch on the motherboard?? try switching to the secondary bios never know it could just be that the bios on it is borked or trying to boot with an overclock :-/

only other thing i can think of tbh...

It keeps switching between them by itself anyway, weird, i have a video:

So i have thought of a name for the prize rig, "Cuda Stealth". Stealth as it is mostly matte black and Cuda as it inherits green and Cuda is Nvidias Technology and Nvidia is green. I made a quick picture summarizing the rig. I have some arctic MX-2 due to come early this week so i can get the rig back up and running. Anyway here is the summary:

Dale, can you put up the memory part number up

also try booting with a stick of ram in each slot, see if you can get it to boot, try both sticks individually obviously

I will have to wait till i get thermal paste though because i don't want to risk breaking the CPU. I will give it a try though. Ill put the part number up tomorrow as i am just away to head to bed :p (Early i know)

hope you get it sorted soon dude, either way, is not all that bad a situation to be in... :) enjoy it. i probably have more fun fixing problems with the pc, than using the pc itself these days.

Yeah, when it is all together you don't really have a chance to touch the hardware again until you upgrade, but you can still drool through the window :D

I am dim and knowing Tom had checked it all made me look harder ;) It was just a corrupt bios but i after having a total freak out i started trying absolutely everything and i cant remember what i did to get it to post but i managed to restore the bios from the 2nd bios which had it been any other board i would not have been able to restore it so thanks to gigabyte for making that choice in designing the board and thanks for tom guiding me to get it to post, it was caused by me being numpty and not seating the CPU cooler properly in the first place. Anyway that is in the past now here are some pictures, im just about to install the OS and do some benches :D :D
