No - he's saying if it's disabled for new members, then he wouldn't be getting the PM to say if he's won...

It won't affect you winning though. You'll still be able to receive the PM letting you know if you've won or not.
We had the comp a week or so ago where 2 new members like yourself both won, and afaik they've not had any problems in claiming prizes, so it's really nothing to worry about!

The guys that run the show are smart enough to unblock that persons PM if such a thing does happen. Plus I think mods can message whoever they want.
the easiest way to solve this would be to become an active member, then that function will be unlocked in no time. it's kind of the point of contests/giveaways to gain new members for the forum.
New members can not PM unless admin tick a box to say they can. Come on boys I/we have the power. This is just to stop spammers nothing else.

Now how am I supposed to tell everyone about the great new way they can make ten thousand dollars a month in their spare time, or how to get in on some great Nigerian investments, or all my great erectile dysfunction remedies, not to mention a host of great loan products disguised as non-financial transactions in order to skirt usury laws??? Can't I at least send everyone an hourly Saveology email? I promise to only send twelve on holidays.

the 780 compo started a lot of necroposting. i think this was restarted by some guy who saw his chances to win a 780 significantly dropping and then never showed up again.
Still a valid thread though because these rules are still inforce.
We have actually made things a bit tighter recently because of spammers trying to get around our automated spam f*#k you system

You need to post in the compo thread fella - MSI can PM you and you should be able to reply. Posting in dark sections of the forums wont do you any good a mod had to send me a link to this - I cant read every post!
