I must say Intel are being very clever with their pricing policy, gives people a much greater incentive to purchase their newest products, all you can say really is well done Intel. And well done on yet another informative post SieB.

Those prizes looks ok by me. I think im going to get IB instead of SB-E, but it all depends what santa gives me under the three this year... ive been wishing me the UD5 x79.

The CPU cores will feature up to 15%, sometimes even higher performance due to micro-architecture improvements and 100 MHz - 300 MHz higher Turbo Boost frequencies. HD 4000 and HD 2500 graphics will add support for DirectX 11, and it will be considerably faster than current HD 3000 and HD 2000 on-chip graphics. What's more important, better performing Ivy Bridge CPUs will come with 20% lower Thermal Design Power. I

Does this only affect graphics if you are using motherboard graphic card or will it still make a difference in graphic speed if you are using discrete (separate) graphic card.

Thanks

They have a graphics card built into the CPU, a Integrated Graphics Processor (IGP). You can either use that on it's own or disable it and use your normal GPU. You can also switch between using the IGP and your normal GPU, or use the IGP alongside your GPU to boost your your overall graphics.

You would need a Z68 or Z77 (Z77 ones will be released when Ivy is released) motherboard that has Lucid Vitua to be able to use those features, otherwise you will only be able to use the CPU part.

Should be the same price as SB. The price in $ is the same as SB so i'd say it should be the same in £.

keep in mind those prices listed will be tray price, so what the shops pay intel for 1000 and not what we will pay as end users.

still looking good

Prices are based on current single SB CPU prices, they match up with the prices on Newegg anyway.
