Hey guys, i know we hear about scams all the time but i have just been informed about a postal scam thats going round that i thought i should bring to your attention (especially this close to Christmas). Basically you will receive a card from a company called PDS (parcel delivery service) telling you they were unable to deliver a parcel and to ring their number (i wont include the whole thing) 0906 xxxxx11 - This is a premium rate number originating from Belize and will cost you ~£15 just to listen to the first few seconds of a recorded message. If you receive this card please contact Royal Mail Fraud on 02072396655 or ICSTIS (premium rate service regulator)

Nice of the people at royal mail to take time away from feeling up our letters and packages for valuables to let us know eh?

thanks buddy, will let the wife and everyone know

Although I did have a card through the door the other day saying someone had sent me something and it was £1.05 short on postage costs, so I duly rang the Post Office and got them to deliver it as I was prepared to pay the £1.05 and when posty got here he told me that actually it was only short of 5p postage but the Royal Mail charge £1.00 to post the card through your door!!!!!!!!

Got mine a week ago. I actually saw the guy who put it through my letterbox as I was coming back from a bimble. He wasn't a postie;)

So I followed him til I saw him get into a clapped out old shed on wheels aka a van. He stopped at a few houses so I was able to keep tabs on him.

I took the card to the plodshop and gave them the registration number of the van at the same time. I also gave them the addresses of the other houses he called at.

Apparently they're a gang operating as far afield as NE England and the West Country. I live in Suffolk.

Yawn...

I am sure I saw this last year, they never give up do they

Thanks for the heads up anyway Llwyd ;)

ICSTIS say that this is a chain email that's going round.

Check the statement out on their website

http://www.icstis.org.uk/pdfs_news/email.pdf

I work for Siemens and received this email through work about 50+ times.

That's not to say that someone else isn't trying it on but the mentioned company have had their account frozen.

ICSTIS say that the £15 charge is an urban myth and you cannot be charged that much on connection.
