That's the crazy thing. She wasn't going out and buying handbags, shoes, etc, she just couldn't budget properly. When our daughter was born we agreed that I'd earn the money and she'd organise the life admin. Up to that point we'd never had an issue with money so I didn't think twice. This is why I don't miss being with a woman, Getting shouted at for spending MY hard earned money when it's perfectly fine for her to spend her money as she pleases.
My last girlfriend easily spent a £1000+ a month on herself, Clothes, Makeup, Shoes, Perfumes, Jewellery etc... but I dare spend £50 a month on myself and holy sh** all hell broke loose.
It's why I'm now happily single, Don't have time for women who think your bank account is their rightful property.
A few years later we're constantly hitting the overdraft limit no matter how much overtime I do. I eventually had enough (among other issues) and we decided to split up. Because of our daughter we still live together and share certain expenses but recently I adjusted my accounts so my money goes into my account rather than the joint one.
I pay a standing order into the joint account to cover all the bills for the house plus £100 a week for groceries (which is in my opinion excessive, but she'd argue blind otherwise). I even sweetened the deal by paying off the overdraft for her too.
Within a month she hit the overdraft limit again. I point blank refuse to bail her out again. She's going to learn the hard way to properly budget, meanwhile I'll keep saving my money for a deposit to move out and buying fun stuff. She can get as annoyed with me as she likes now, I'm beyond caring.
