Looks like an up with 15" wheels has a width of 5.5J, an offset of ET41 and uses 185/55 tyres. Centre Bore you would also need for aftermarket rims which is 57.1 mm.

I would only go for 15", maybe 16" alloys with a width of no more than 6.5J. The UP does have the option to add those kind of rims stock so it shouldn't be too detrimental to the performance. Alloys, so I read, often help with stability (at the expense of some comfort over bumps and potholes) and breaking performance.

I saw those wheel specifications as well, but I couldn't tell whether it was with alloys or just steel wheels. I found a set of 15" alloys on eBay for £90 each that has a 5.5J width.

If you get the right rims and tyres the roll diameter will be the same. I had 15" rims on my Tiburon with big tyres. I switched for 17" rims with really low profile tyres, and the roll size was identical. Which was good, because it saved me fiddling with the speedo and so on. I had to use spacers though, as they were quite wide, but that only improved the way the car drove. Gave it a bigger footprint.

Ahhh, memories. And you'll have fun fun fun til the govt take your license awaaaay.

This was day one. The trans was leaking really bad, the engine had too much oil in (because the guy thought it was leaking oil) the brakes were fudged and the interior was full of mould. It had been sitting in a shed for nearly three years.

It was doing around 200 brake. Not the quickest car I have ever driven but it was all about the handling, man. It was like driving a overgrown go kart.

Be careful about getting alloys that are too cheap, they may be heavy or bad quality. Have you looked second hand for original VW wheels?

Not a big fan of massive trucks like that. Well, no, I think they're cool in their own way, but even if I had the money and could afford the insurance I'd still much rather something more fun like an Mazda MX-5, something sporty like the new Nissan Micra, or something classy like the Kia Stinger.

SPS, I found two front right original VW UP wheels with alloys on eBay, but not a full set. I can find other VW alloys wheels, but the UP is not a terribly popular or common car so it's going to be hard to find originals for that car specifically. VW's are very popular in Ireland, but more so the Polo, Golf, Passat and estates.
 
When I used to live in NJ there was no trash pick up. Meaning you had to do it all yourself. That was where I got my first car/truck from, the old trash run F150 from the late 80s with the enormous V8 in. Same one the cop cars had. 5.7l? something like that. Sadly on my first ever drive the oil pump failed and that was the end of that. Due to a cross member you had to pull the entire engine out to fix it and that was beyond me.

I then got a 1993 Ford Taurus. Fitted some SHO parts and completely stripped and repainted it. Then I learned why Fords get their reputation. First the starter went, then the alternator, then the brakes, then the wheel bearings. I just didn't have time to keep fixing it so I sold it to my father in law. That was when I bought the Tiburon, and I had it for four years. It went wrong a lot but it was mostly from me driving it like a complete nut case. Always small things like split hoses, CAI coming loose and so on. Nothing that didn't take more than ten minutes to fix.

I knew that car inside out. Was absolutely one of the most fun cars I have ever driven. Stock they are totally lame, like 142 BHP or something but it's the handling and the fact your arse is about 6" off the ground. Wicked car, I still miss the crap out of it almost every day.

Thankfully my mate Art realised that the 1.8L DOHC was different inside to the 2L DOHC we had. In order for them to get more BHP out of the 1.8L they used a higher lift cam. So we both did a swap to 1.8 cams. Really made a huge difference. We started a bit of a trend doing that. Loads of people did it after that :D

The stock air box on the Tib was terrible. The air goes in, goes into a vibrator thing which slows it down, then goes into the engine. So fitting a CAI again makes a huge difference. Thing used to peel wheels every time I floored it, even though it was auto !
 
The UP has an MPI engine = No turbo = Not much to work with.
It probably have a bit more than 75 ab fabrik 78-79hp. And a tuning will give it around 90hp.

Fugly? I guess you just got bad taste! American trucks are beautiful! Well except the old Chevy's and any Ford..

Yeah those are called dualies. Because dual tires. The benefit is that they have more payload capacity and can haul more weight easier since it's spread over a larger surface area:)

He only got it a few weeks ago, He has around 600 acres of land and tends to it daily, It's a very rocky place hence why he raised it, Looks awesome though ^_^

Must have been expensive. But if uses it all the time he's putting good work into it. So good for him:)

It looks far better in person. It's not a great picture but in person it looks far far better. She's amongst the best looking trucks in NA. Not even close.

Still as bad as I want this, do not think they will offer this package with the Off Road version of this truck:(
