Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

they do use powder coat. i asked if they could give me the case in primer state so i can paint it a color of my choosing but they had a big backlog plus its a hassle for them to change the color in the spray gun just for my case.

Yeah man, I noticed the "8-10 weeks" part when you change the colour.

The HiFi fund finally got finished, and I've FINALLY (after 10 months of saving) been and ordered this lot :)

(curious as to if anyone would be interested in a review or if it's too-audio for you chaps)

Nice. I toyed with the idea of getting a record deck as we (my wife and I) have quite a few records. Thing is, the one I want would cost thousands so I've decided against it. Thankfully you can get most music as FLAC/Vinyl, so any album I want as vinyl I just download :)

Would love to see a review though. Oh, and Ortofon FTW. I always used those. Concordes, IIRC, and looked a little bit like this.

It's been on my list for AGES, just finally managed to top up the fund and get the permission to get it :)

Yeah heard nothing but good things about the Ortofon stuff, I'm considering upgrading it to a blue, but for now this is plenty good enough.

Very nice :)

I had to go sound bar/sub route until I can afford the whole shebang.
Cheers man :) Dead pleased!

We've had surround stuff since before I moved a while back, but we haven't got around to setting a lot of it up, my KEF's paint reacted to UV weird and went super-sticky so need to use cellulose thinners to get rid of it, which is a pretty fast way to give yourself Cancer so I just haven't sorted them out. Once we've bought the house though, it'l all get setup and sorted :)

I'm properly looking forward to getting this bad boy setup end of this week and enjoying some records :)

I know the feeling brother. Before I left the UK for the USA I had the most incredible set up. I had Crown Macrom 10" mids with tweeters in, a Rogers E40A valve amp worth about four grand and a Cerwin Vega Intense trapezoidal subwoofer. T36, IIRC.

It was quality meets loud. Oh yeah, and a 2kw amp feeding the Stroker 18 that was in there :D

When I left for the USA I sold it all, and then had no hifi at all between 2000 and 2008. When I arrived back my cousin gave me a set of Missions and an old Sherwood receiver from the 90s but yeah, that was it until I built up our cinema rig using nothing but Scandyna and valve amps about two years back.

I'd forgotten what proper hifi stuff sounded like tbh, making do with cheap headphones and no amps.

Ortofon started out competing with Stanton back in the 90s. Stantons were harder wearing, but inevitably rather bass heavy and a bit woolly. Ortofon were far more accurate and sounded much better, and at the time they were cheaper too.

Me not being a DJ I always used to use Ortofons.

I wouldn't mind a Grado, but as I say - grands man, grands.

Well at least I know who to ask when it comes to later upgrades ;)

Fire away mate :)

Also, talking of turntables. I would like to take something like this -

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Vintage-G...825149?hash=item3d21c8fcfd:g:IgIAAOSwhOdXoJEG

And convert/wire it up for stereo. Not sure how I would mount the cartridge but record decks are actually very simple. You have a motor circuit and on those old Garrards there is like a rubber flywheel that presses onto the record plate making it turn. Then there are four or five very fine wires that run through the arm and connect to a RCA plate at one end and the cartridge at the other. I'm 99% certain I could take something like I've linked to and convert it to play modern records :)

Go for it dude, I'd love to see something like that

Yeah me being me it would have to be something daft like that. Just one issue, the drive wheels. They will pretty much be perished and new ones are £85 haha. It's got money pit written all over it :D

The nice part about Garrards though is that they were manufactured as running decks that you then mounted into the base yourself. So for example, back in the 60s and 70s huge great mahogany cabinets with speakers etc in (and legs, they looked like tables !) you would usually find a Garrard at the heart of it. I used one for many years as a kid totally removed from the base. they actually run and function completely independently.

Just got myself a Samsung 512GB PM961 M.2 PCIe NVMe SSD with read speeds of 3000MB/s and write speeds of up to 1150MB/s.

I was looking round and noticed Scan is £77 cheaper than OCUK for this item, While Scans is on pre-order I aint got a problem waiting 2 weeks until they get stock over paying an extra £77 for the exact same item and getting it the next day.

I asked them on the phone if they will honor pre-orders if prices go up once they get stock and they did confirm this so it's not a problem.

It's being installed in my X99 Sabertooths nicely hidden M.2 NVME compartment, Nice stealthy fast storage and the green PCB won't be seen :)

After my rear 120mm rad swallowed half a bottle of vinegar earlier I have ordered another one of these.

And another one of these.

I bought one yesterday for £5:03 inc from Kikatek, then realised OCUK had them for £1.99. I bolted it onto the coolant order so the shipping was free and hilariously it will be here before the Kikatek one. Note to self - always exhaust options before pressing order. At least if I want to paint one now I can :)

I also ordered six of these from WCUK. I don't need six, but adding that new rad into the loop has caused all sorts of issues with what fittings I can use where.

I ordered these two days ago.

And of course this.

And for those who were around when it aired.. In 2000 I went off to the USA so for six years I remained blissfully unaware of the cappuccino years. I read the book in 2007 but missed the TV show.. Was it any good? I downloaded it the other night because it's £90 on DVD now :O

Oh yeah, bargain alert ! I also got this, formerly a £60 mouse.

https://www.eclipsecomputers.com/Product/Func_MS-3_R2_5670_DPI_Gaming_Mouse/

They have the mats too*

https://www.eclipsecomputers.com/Product/Func_Surface_FS10-R2-XL_Gaming_Mouse_Mat/

* NOTE. If you just order the mouse they will send it second class for £3. Making a total of about £13. If you order a mat it goes to DPD and they charge £6. So all in I paid about £19 for the mouse and mat.

Couldn't help it, Needed some more Corsair goodness, Tom I blame your review ^_^

Corsair MM800 RGB mousemat and 4x4GB Corsair LPX 3000MHz so I now have 32GB of memory, don;t really need it but the empty memory slots were bugging me XD
