Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

Still got my X58 rig running so I figured I'd give it a treat...

This will be fun, basically a 6 core hyper-threaded Sandy you can overclock. :P

Nice !

Workmate of mine has one of those running at 4.20GHz :)

I see, not bad! I won't be overclocking mine immediately since I lack a cooler and a spacious case for my server rig - but it is defintely in the plans.

He's got it on a custom loop though so I have no clue what temps are like on air but I imagine with a decent air cooler they won't be bad :)

Basically is, Same 32nm process and a lot of other stats minus the iGPU and 2 more cores.

No it isn't. It's Westmere and Westmere had the same IPC as Nehalem it just ran cooler. Intel gained nothing from the die shrink, basically.

The guys on OCUK tested the IPC vs that of Nehalem and it was identical. The only gain from shrinking these dies is that they overclocked better because they need slightly less voltage and thus run cooler (hence why you can go over 4ghz, something nigh on impossible on the I7 950).

I scored 1300 points in Cinebench R15 on my 3970x. Try doing that on one of these lol.

Damn you and your correct up to date information !!! :p

You're absolutely right, we're looking at a 10% disadvantage clock per clock at least... At 5.0GHz it might reach 1300pts at cinebench but with my cooling solution 4.0 is more likely :D It'll probably be my video encoder slave.

So bought this 470 Strix. Basically to replace my brothers 280x and use it as an intern GPU until Vega.

Pretty quiet so far, haven't tested it much. My favorite feature is probably the 0rpm idle fan speed. PC is dead silent!

I would doubt that also, as it took me 5ghz to break the 1300 barrier with my 3970x.

You've still got a fantastic chip there though :)

Yo Alien, it's ya birthday we gonna party like it's ya birthday. Oh OK so I confess, it isn't my birthday. Sure f**kin feels like it though :D

A whole box of America's finest :D I've not even scratched the surface yet :D

I was so focused on modding today that I had completely forgotten I ordered it last week. I love it when things like that happen :D

Don't have a pic but just pulled the trigger on another egva 980ti classified brand new for under £400 :) will be buying a 6850k and a rampage 10th anniversary edition end of month :D

None of this is going in a car.

I only want the base.

I only needed an A4, just enough to plug a IO shield hole so I can mount all of the rear connections in there. Plastic is easy to work with and doesn't conduct leccy too so no chance of a short.

I'm going to need to order a latching power button because the one in there is momentary but I don't know the size yet so haven't ordered.

And finally, this thing I have had sitting in a box for two years.

Actually no that isn't finally, this is.

I've a sneaky feeling I am going to need a boat load of that before I'm done :D

I decided to step things up from my old GTX 760 as well:

It's a wier experience being able to turn all the games you own all the way up and still get a solid 66 FPS on ultra settings , DOOM included.
Now i need more fancy looking FPS games to play lol

So I may have got myself this for my racing rig.........
