New toy arrived today!
An overdue update from my aging GTX 780!
Interesting! I just got my MSI gaming too! Except the RX480 version
Also just got this:
Surface 3 128GB model!
Got office 2013 for the Surface and for my PC so I can do school work while i'm there and when I get home can just hop on and keep going from my PC

Nice rig, Tom. I have a newer friend I should get into a racing rig. He is not into computers though. Showed me his garage last week, the guy has 4 sand buggies in it, a ton of new engine parts for VW bug engines and turbo Corvair engines. A couple of the buggies he built from scratch. At 63 he says he is too old to play with them. Used to have fast cars too, a Mopar nut. Surprised we never met and street drag raced in my misspent youth. Be cool to both get on a race game where we can't hurt our old bodies.

I was thinking about it, but one of my brothers bought that, i heard it on his speakers and knew, i had to get it, card is feeding 2 KRK R6 studio monitors with a harman/kardon amp in there.

Well since this is not the Pro 3 and just a regular Surface 3, it is much cheaper. I got it off eBay for really cheap along with a case and keyboard for cheaper than a brand new 64GB Surface 3 so it was a win in my book. I would have liked the Pro 4, but seeing as it has had a LOT of firmware issues and battery life is subpar it wouldn't work for me since i go to Uni everyday and needed something to just type on and be easy to carry around. The Surface 3 is easily capable of that.
The Atom X7 CPU in it is actually not that bad too, unless I purposely try to slow it down it scuttles along fine and doesn't get hot at all. However where it does suffer is graphics performance, it can do YT 1080p 60fps max, anything more it struggles.

Scary to think that a 950 which is a very low end card is roughly equal to a GTX 680 in games

haha is it? I've got no idea mate tbh. I just needed something to replace the Asus Mars out of my third rig that I sold.
I've wanted an Ubuntu box for ages now (now that I have multi inputs on my monitor again) so at £30 it was a no brainer.
At some point I am going to build a tower to house all three Area 51s. Probably when the stereo project is finished.

I dont think i can even give away my 780s these days. I wish I sold them sooner.

I'm only going to upgrade every 2nd gen now, I had a 1080 for a very short while and the generational performance gaps tend to be getting smaller, Honestly wasn't impressed especially coming from a decently overclocked 980 Ti, My current 980 Ti does 1550 on the core and 2050 on the memory completely stable.
I'll end up just handing my GPU down to my little brother when Volta comes out, Should be a nice upgrade for him from a 970
