Well, the R9 290X Matrix has gone back. It decided that hitting 98°c while playing Diablo3 was reasonable behaviour, and when the fans hit 80% (their apparent locked top speed) the card actually began to shake. So now I've grabbed myself a refurbished one of these:

So hopefully no more issues, and this was a flat €200 with a 2 year warranty. Not bad I guess.

I went from a Sapphire R9-290 to a GTX 780 myself.

It wasn't because of thermal or noise problems though, because it was seriously quiet while gaming, but rather driver problems. I had hard lockups while starting some older games that would force me to hold in the power button.

I sold it to a guy (who's actually very happy with it) and got a GTX 780 and it's been solid since.

I'm not surprised man. I decided that this Christmas I was going to go a bit mental and buy my wife a Tiffany bracelet (balls) with a love heart on it saying "Return to Tiffany and Co). It cost a bit.. Then I decided to get her the matching earrings (balls) but then I found out that they do two different sizes. 10mm and 8mm. Given my wife has multiple piercings I then figured what the hell, I'll get her both.

So it comes as no surprise that I'm actually skint. I've got about a tenner to last me a week lmao.

She's worth it though

I've been getting more and more into vaping lately, after giving up smoking after 31 years, yes 31, I started I'm sad to say at 9, but last year I decided to see what all the hype was, and I've never looked back, I went from spending about £5 per day, on 1/2 an ounce of tobacco ,to £5 per week, on juice, and I'm already down from 24mg to 6mg.

So for a treat I splashed out on an 18650 Mechanical mod, and a Mini Mad hatter rda, and wow, what a difference in, taste and overall performance. I just need to perfect winding the micro coils, and then onto more elaborate coils, it's a whole different sub culture of the hobby. It has completely blown me away the skill some people have in coming up with different combinations of wire thickness, ribbon wire and ways, and amount of turns to come up with a coils that is about 2mm in diameter, some are like little mini pieces of art.

Vaping is the best invention in recent times IMO. I remember I used to walk from the downstairs bathroom and through the house. Then up the stairs, and by the time I got there I was knackered and out of breath. Now? I can walk much further.

It's only small things you notice at first but as time goes by you really start to feel so much better.

I totally agree mate, it is the future. I only tried it because, my local CoOp, got basic kits in, and I was checking them out, thinking the whole time, they're just a gimmick, and they won't work, so I started to walk home, and found a £20 note on the floor, I turned around and bought the kit, it was the best £20 somebody else has ever spent, within 3 days, I was of the roll ups.

After the first week, I was coughing up all manner of things, I thought it wasn't agreeing with me, but apparently, it is very common, your body getting rid of all the crap, from years of abuse.

Really liking it so far. I've gone from a hard Roccat surface to this so noticeably more resistance but overall it looks much more tidy. The cold aluminium I had before also irritated my wrist and hand at times. That could just be me being weird tho.

Really like the way it looks and feels.

No no yours I mean is the extended, Crossed wires ^_^

oh yeah I thought u had an extended and cut it up lol.

I was a bit sad that they changed the design just as I ordered it. Then I had to wait for weeks for them to come back into stock.
The yellow isn't ideal tbh although it's pretty non-obtrusive.

I really liked the first version, would have been happy with the second even with the gaming logo but just unlucky on the timing. These things can't be helped.

There's a Ducky one that looks the goods but is a little shorter. Razer was too green for me (looks like radioactive vomit)

edit - the stripe is actually quite bright. Galaxy phone pics in a poorly lit room with yellow walls make everything look dull!

Love the set up and mouse mat, i got the one with just the tramp stamp in the bottom corner. only thing i have found is they suck up dust like nobodies business, so have to use a mildly damp sponge every few weeks to keep it looking new.

Love the Saitek x52 snap how are you at CQC with it

Yep my mouse mat has gone the same way too with the dust, I clean it but just in matter of hours the dust is back.

My mouse mat is one with the Sail logo not the tramp stamp ^_^

Nice setup - how are the headphones? I had some of the Vengeance 2000s but I broke the bit where the ear cup twists. The metal pin cracked the plastic shroud it connects into.

I would still go a tramp stamp if I could. The sails in the corner is the dream tho

I can't connect to the server right now it must be down but on the launcher it says it's status is ok. Weird but typical- Tonight is my first real chance to game this week! doh! I'll just have to keep trying over the next hour or so...

The only real issue with CQC is that in Aus and at the times I'm online there's not a lot of other players to combat. I need to get on Euro time.
