Just got my shield tablet delivered from Amazon yesterday, and then in the settings menu I have a nice suprise from NVIDIA 2nd image LOL :

I actually sold my Titan X to fund it, The main reason and people are going to think I'm nuts here.

So many always talk about supporting AMD but never actually do, Just hot air vacating their mouth's so I thought I'd start to support them.

More people need to support AMD because if we lose them then Nvidia has free reign to charge whatever they want and slow down yearly gains by quite a lot as they will have no real competition.

Is that a photo of the exact GPU you bought dude or just a web image?

That's what I been saying for months!

Now all AMD need to do is bring out a CPU that exceeds the 4790K and I'll be all over it ^_^

Oh and a voltage tool ;)

I'd be happy with a CPU that is at the very least betwen an I5 and I7. They also need to impress on the chipset side too. They need to get every aspect right or it won't matter and Intel will still be the #1 choice

Yeah 3rd parties need to start updating that OC software so we can overclock more! I don't AMD making a tool.. They should be spending their resources into something else

Although your actions seem virtuous, almost heroic and certainly cathartic, I do think you're more nuts than squirrel poo. You've taken quite a substantial financial hit and lets face it, a performance hit, to support the underdog who won't even notice.

You could argue that supporting AMD in this way you are in as much accepting of AMD's poor ability to compete in the open market as you are in your fear of Nvidia obtaining a monopoly. Ironically, Nvidia already have your money.

You could also argue you don't support AMD and the more people who think like the way you do is the reason why AMD is failing. AMD have great GPUs but no one cares. The only markets Nvidia are winning in are the highest tier where the TX is the best card. Below that the Fury X/980ti are darn close to eachother. Go below that and a Fury is faster than a 980, 390x is just as fast as a 980, 390 is on par with a 970, and then the 960 is seriously behind to which the 380x is better. Nvidia aren't winning in anything except power usage. Both companies have great drivers. AMD probably having the better ones albiet much slower release cycles.

The Underdog would notice if people actually cared enough. People think if you go AMD you automatically lose out on everything and then add on "crappy drivers" when that's far from the truth. This mindset from before GCN was introduced needs to stop or we are all screwed.

Edit: Forget to mention, whenever Nvidia screws up, no one really cares. Whenever AMD screw up, everybody cares... double standards. Nvidia have screwed up so much with the 970 it hardly mattered. Many people sold the 970 back and got a 980. Gameworks and other IP they have is totally hurting the industry. The tech industry relies on standards so everything remains equal not only for companies, but for consumers. The more standard it is, the cost of production falls, compatibility rises, and the better connected everything becomes and which leads to more people spending their money because consumers get choices. With all the crap Nvidia makes as IP, seriously gimps the market.
