I was going to sell off my 6800xt strix, Liang Lian 012 and etc. I then remembered I had a z590 tachyon and 11700k with 32gb klevv ddr4 sat in the closet. With three 512gb and a 1tb ssd in. That means I just need a psu to keep it operational. It was then I remembered I have a 650w evga gold at mum's. So I put it all back together. Might sell it as a whole or just keep it tbh.
New case came. So has the mobo, contact frame (plastic lmao) and cooler. Might tinker with that later but will probably leave it until tomorrow now .

I told a lie, it's 4x 990Pros in 2*2 and 2*4 format plus I managed to keep a 2TB 970 Evo Plus as well. So my humble Crosshair Viii has 2 * 2TB 990 Pros running in the board slots, a 990 Pro 4TB in the PCIe V5 card that is bundled with the Crosshair X670e and a 990 Pro 4TB and 970 Evo Plus 2TB sitting in a Asus Hyper V2 card. Interesting thing here is that the Hyper card was bought during the Gen 3 era but the 990 Pro benchmarked in Samsung Magician as having a Read of 7300MB/s and write of 6950MB/s. Saves me 60 quid getting a Gen 4 variant.

Interesting to see that price, since I'm currently debating wether to sell my 4080S FE myself, so nice to see a good indication of your price for that specific model.Well that turned expensive... Sold some stuff to a mate. Not PC related. Bought a new GPU for 700 quid.

Oh dude that was very cheap tbh. The FE will be worth much more and do bear in mind I got it privately on the Overclockers members market which is notoriously low in prices.
Yours will be worth way more than that. In fact there is a 4080 non super FE on sale there now for more than I paid.

Didn't have time to do a log tbh. Still extremely busy with housework and etc.
Here is where I am at, though.
GPU is coming RMSD tomorrow. I also ordered this for 25 quid. It is literally designed for my PSU and will save me effing around with making a third 8 pin.

Just ordered one of these in 4TB as I'm running out of room, damn games are so HUGE! Got it for $343 aussie too which is a great price here.

Spree time.
I'm currently not very well. I won't go into it, but let's say I have a problem "down there" and leave it at that. So I got four pairs of pj shorts as I am extremely sore RN.
Needed a fan for my bedroom. Decided to get a decent one I can set a timer on etc.
Cookware.
I also need to cut some 4mm metal plates for some speaker stands and don't have anything up to the job. So I got this.
And.
And then.
OK so away with the boring shite and onto computer things. I needed a PSU to put back in the old TV PC. I was going to use a EVGA 650w, but I don't think it will be enough for a 11700k and 6800XT. So I am going to put the Strix back in there and got this for the new TV rig.
It's used but was only 140 quid.
Got this for it as my MSATA doesn't work in the new board.
And finally. I can tell you now to NEVER EVER buy any of those off brand keyboards. Keychron etc. They are all totally crap. One failed after 3 months, this one types 5 presses for each key. I have to use an app, and even then it still double presses from time to time.
Ducky Nuka Cola with Brown 2s. This came free with it, but are worth 30 quid.

My Retro PC got a soundcard upgrade / sidegrade with the arrival of an brand new MK1869 which is based on the ESS ES1869 sound controller chip with onboard wavetable synth based on the ESS ES690 DSP (but I also have the Roland GS Wavetable too
) - Interesting nugget on this, it has a Type-C USB connector. The card above is the CMI8330 based new retro whereas the ESS1869 was supposed to be superior back in the day. Works well with LucasArts stuff and Wing Commander Privateer.
So this is on its way to me, a Chaintech KT133A Socket 462 board. I have a boxed Athlon XP 2000+ lying about somewhere, throw in a couple of 512MB sticks and we'll see what'll it do. This is one of the few that has ISA support as most had migrated to PCI + AGP only. Also comes with a built-in CMI8738 audio chip. Possible makings of a WinXP gaming build for Privateer 2, Wing Commander 3 - 4 and X-Wing Alliance.

When I got home last week I noticed my internet kept dropping out. Like the light on the router would go red. After four days of it I realised it was being caused by my Fire TV Cube. A power out reset sorted it, but it's been acting up for months. It's also getting really slow now too. Far slower than the sticks I use elsewhere. I also decided to sign up for Netflix with ads, which is only 1080p. The money I save in about 8 months will pay for this, which will upscale it to 4k for me.

I have a shield TV myself been using it for about four years now and it's great, I bought the tube one, anyway I love the fact it passes through all my audio including DTS-X as well as Atmos, and it also allows me to mount my NAS so I don't need Plex or anything to watch videos as it's all done through VLC, So I think you'll be happy when you get yours.

Well I specifically use a Fire Cube as the app I use used to only be on there. Smarttube. It's a Youtube replacement app and skips ads and sponsors. Like it literally detects the sponsor seg and skips it. Also allows resume and history and etc.
The main problem began about 6 months ago. Amazon changed the home screen, and it now moves itself from the app bar to start running video. Like, it plays video without any input. This is a huge problem for me. Mostly because let's say I need to go to the toilet late at night. I go in, sit down, and it starts blaring out sound from my surround system. It's just f*****g annoying is what it is. Trying to pimp their paid for content.
So that was pretty much strike one and two for it. Like my mates would Whatsapp at 10pm and say "PUBG any one?" I go into PUBG, get the game underway and they're like "WTF is that noise?". Oh, the fire cube is wasting energy again
Third strike was when it started to get slow. Probably because of the aids they have injected into it. So yeah, it's gone.
BTW I too am a VLC user. That is how I stream everything from my server
