Post A Picture of Your Last Purchase

I'm currently using three rigs. The third however isn't finished, and is for the TV.

My "home" rig is a 12700KF with 32gb 4133 8 pack and a 6800XT. I use this one on a 165hz 32" 1440p monitor. The 6800XT has no problems matching that.

My "away" rig (which I am sitting on right now) is a 3950x with 16gb 3200 Doms, and a 6700XT Strix.

I call that one mini me, because it is a miniature clone of the home rig.

On that one I use a 144hz Razer monitor. I had no problems smashing that with PUBG, but recently since an update it isn't running great. I certainly don't blame the GPU tbh.

You aren't wrong, Warchild :D

Pump noise is mostly masked by my fans even at low RPM so not an issue for me. Pretty much any AIO I guess.

nice speakers what you gona power them with cos these KEF's need a quality amp/receiver to get the best they can offer paired with a nice sub will be excellent

they do have their own solid steel stands that look amazing tripod style https://i.imgur.com/380M0gG.jpg

Have a Yamaha RX-V765. Quite old but still going strong!

Going on the TV unit rather than on stands.

I nearly bought those. Just too big for me tbh.

Replacing Dali Spektor II so not much difference in size for me.

Fair play. They’re immense speakers if you like the look. I do, but due to placement they would have been pretty much sat on the floor. That’s why I chose two sets of Uber high end that are tiny, but both pairs were bought solely for their record breaking wave guides.

Let us know what you think man. Pics would be much appreciated too!

Nearly gigabit speed, Very nice, I'm currently on 14 Mbps download and 0.80 Mbps upload, Downloading any game usually takes around 24 hours, Tiz painful ^_^

yea i'm using my iphone on 5g and at times is decent like 50mbps but this is going to work better in the house and i'll have the phone as backup still, to me worth the cost for sanity as i've been installing for weeks now made a lot of progress on filling these drives up, but with some games going over 100gb this sure will speed things up and maybe i'll watch higher bitrate content more often and make use of it :) but yep excited :D

£45 per month is a great price, Right now I'm paying nearly £30 for 14 Mbps XD

Yea it's good, after 18 months it'll go upto £65, but even get an amazon voucher think £175 mum wants £75 of that lol.

Still i'll know much more in a few weeks at these speeds i expect it'll be fiber to the house cant see that working over copper like i've had before.

Soon have all these games done, but it'll be nice for watching stuff at max quality far more often, good thing it's unlimited as i'll make use of it where there is a will there is a way :D

my iphone atm is £12 a month and £22 for the phone, but this makes more logical sence to me as it's so much faster or at least i hope it will be :)

So far so good. They sound very impressive. Not sure if breaking stuff in still exists but them see to sound better each day, but of course the source makes the main difference. Also think getting a better amp and a sub will help.

No pictures yet as am unsure of positioning. KEF recommend they are 50cm from the back wall but that is going to be a challenge given the size and layout of my room. Need to do some thinking!

Break in is voodoo bs. And always was. It’s something audiophiles believe improves over time and just more bs that they think their super human ears can hear.

I used to work for Rogers. Who made all of the critical speakers for the BBC. When built out speakers would slowly travel along a conveyor belt to the next station as things were added. So you’d have a decal and badge station for the cabinets, a crossover station, and then the driver station. The next step would be a sound proof booth off the side of the belt where they would be aimed into the booth at 1m from the mic and then measured. At this point the measurement would be printed out and stuck to the back of the speaker to confirm to the buyer that they measured correctly.

This does not change. Ever. If it did? Your £5000 speakers would be running out of spec. End of. It would go against the entire design of the speaker for it to sound different to measuring after say 500 hours. The sound doesn’t change and it doesn’t improve. It remains the same. That is why you can buy a speaker after giving it a 20 minute audition in a shop. Bearing in mind of course that their room is treated and they may be using a different amp.

As crazy as it sounds I’ve bought mine based on tests on YT. If they measure well you can get a good idea of the sound signature with just a pair of headphones. Basically? Measurements don’t lie. Unless they are twisted and bent by the manufacturer. But they will always be outed as there are guys like Amir who will measure them properly.

And yeah, it is always beneficial to have a sub. The bigger and deeper the better, because the more of the audio scale that’s there to hear the better.
