See? It is related, you said the same about peripherals. Some people are very picky and some aren't. Even though i think 144hz makes more of a difference than mechanical to con(rubber)dome.

Well so far I have tried the red switch K95 and the red switch ducky and key strokes feel exactly the same being as they do use the same Cherry made switch etc...I even got a girlyfriend to come in and type on it and she couldn't tell the difference between it and the K95 either.
To tell the difference between 1 Cherry MX Red switch on 1 keyboard and 1 Cherry MX Red switch on the other you have to be ultra anal with zero lube
And from what I've seen 144Hz didn't impress me to be honest, There was a slight difference but nothing that made me go "OMG THIS IS EPIC OMG RUBSSCHNIEDELONMONITOR" ^_^ but as you say it is subjective.

It's about build quality, the switches are all the same.
The difference is immense at high framerates.

I've tried Quake 3 with the BenQ 144Hz and as I said I could tell the difference, Slightly, But it didn't impress me or make me want to run out and scream it from the rooftops.
60Hz to 144Hz is like anal, A lot of people can quite happily live without it even if they've tried it but there's always that minority that are like YES, ALL DAY LONG, RAM IT HOME !

Honestly its more like majority then minority. Pretty much everyone who plays arena shooters (as their main game), be it TF2 to Quake wax lyrical about them. They're becoming more and more popular. More so then UHD. Its cheaper to run one after all.

It's not the minority though which holds 144hz in high regards. Especially in quake. Playing quake at 60hz feels like a bad fps cap to me.

Arena shooters are boring as hell though but that's a personal taste thing, to me it's a very repetitive going around in circles type of genre.
It's like the Nascar of the gaming world ^_^
But each to their own.
That's arena shooters though and that's a very select crowd of people, Arena shooters to me are like this i.e going around in circles ^_^ -

Idk what you've been doing in arena fps but it's definitely not repetitive if you don't play vs brain dead people.
To me BF, CoD etc. is running around in circles, pretty much just killing people who are barely better than bots with guns which are supposed to be different but really are pretty much all the same.
I agree despite the netcode, which is not too bad now, its great fun.
Probably the shooter with the lowest skill ceiling ever.

To you arena shooters are fun but to me they are boring as hell, Difference in taste.
You yourself said you don't really play anything else apart from arena shooters, quake etc..., I have a much broader taste in games than you do, I like playing lots of different genres not just sticking to Quake for my whole life.

I personally prefer arena shooters, battlefield 3/4 multiplayer is one of the most boring games i ever played, i fall asleep playing it. Although im not fan of COD, i fin dit far batter than battlefield when it comes to multiplayer

It really depends on your playstyle. If you play BF like its an arena shooter, you will have a bad time. However, if you actually PTFO, it can be great fun.
