Positive Mental Training & Guided Relaxation

This thread might be useful to you, or it may not. But even if you don't have problems with stress, anxiety, depression and panic attacks, you still may benefit from it.

Personally, I have suffered from severe anxiety and panic attacks for several years now. It has been, and still is a roller coaster ride of many ups and downs. More downs than ups, but it is something that has had a big impact on my life and limiting the things I am able to do.

But anyway, i'm not making this thread to play the violin and tell you my life story :D

Basically, I have tried many types of treatments over the years with varying amounts of success. Recently though, my doctor referred me to a team that deals specifically with this kind of thing and they started me on a 16 week program. The program involves listening to guided meditation CDs, 1 CD for every 4 weeks of the course. Each CD consist of 4 tracks, you listen one track twice a day for one week and then move on to the next until the four weeks are up and then you move on to the next CD and do the same again for the next 4 weeks.

This is a kind of hypnosis treatment which effects you on a subconscious level. When I say hypnosis, I don't mean close your eyes and when I count to three you will wake up and become a chicken type of hypnosis :p

This video will help explain what the type of hypnosis this is and how it can help you.

So, I don't know if any of you guys like me suffer from anxiety, panic attacks or depression etc, but this treatment and these CDs have helped me a lot and I thought I would share them with you guys in case they could help you as much as they have helped me.

I have uploaded the first two CDs (will upload the last two when I get them) from this treatment to my youtube channel, if you are interested you can give them a go for yourself.

The videos are not monitised or anything like that, although they may have adds because the music used in them is third party content and the owner can run adds on it if they want to. You can use add block if that bothers you though.

As I said before, even if you do not suffer with any of the above, these CDs may still help you feel better about yourself and relax you more.

How to

Start with CD1 - track 1 and progress from there. Listen to each track twice a day for a week before moving on to the next track and then move on to the next CD. The best time to do this is when you wake up and before you go to sleep. You can work it into your daily scheduled though, as long as you do it twice a day that is all that matters.

Make sure you are in a quiet room, lying down or sitting in a comfy chair with no distractions. Using earphones or headphones to shut out outside noise will help a lot as well.
