Pocket Rocket - Turning a quad bike, into a gaming/show system!

Hey, come on now. No need for that on project logs.
It looks good, works and performs.
What more could we want :)

Subjective. I don't think it looks good and I think their other parts look tacky and poorly made too (like the res for example). I have handled a lot of water cooling gear now and I can safely say I would never buy anything they make, because up close it looks like they've cut every corner they can.

He'e entitled to his opinion the forum over. If he didn't speak up then the general consensus would be that the stuff was good. Too many PC companies like to silence people IMO. No one is allowed to complain any more.

Not like he's being rude to you.

I disagree, it is ALWAYS rude to post that crap in someone's build log. It's one thing if the man asks for opinions, then fire away by all means. But you shouldn't pollute the man's build log with that crap. Not a surprise that the project log forum is DEAD here. It's because of stuff like this.

I actually really like the look of that GPU block and fittings. The new Tt logo is better too. MT. Mods, how does the quality feel in hand compared to others? It's hard to show that in a picture.

@AlienALX You have experience with loads of different brands and qualities. How would you say Tt faired against some of the cheaper Chinese knockoff parts you've used?

Again, this is a project log, not some average post asking for people's input on the products used.
No one really cares what you or anyone else thinks about the products. Same way no one would really care what i thought.
This is about modding, and what one can do with their idea.

I'd like to keep my logs clean, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything.
No need to be arrogant, or cause issues.

Hi!
Their GPU blocks are actually nice, although i feel the badckplate is a little too raised of the PCB (Can be an issue on some boards)

M-Pro fittings are a game changer, soooo much easier to use, especially when it comes to measuring, no one can argue their m-pro fittings being superior.
Might not look at good as others, but if we based everything on looks over form, we'd all be ed lol.
Actual feel, just like every other Fitting, EK/Alphacool etc etc. There's really no difference in ''feel'' however use.. is another thing :)

honest reply, if anyone doesn't like it, so be it, not my problem.

I wasn't being arrogant and this is a public forum, not an advertisement for Thermaltake. If your skin really is that thin maybe think of a new hobby?

I openly welcome criticism providing it is just when building my rigs. I appreciate it even, because it helps me make the next one better.

And no it's not about modding and ideas. As soon as you took on a sponsor you were pwned. It's not even you or your work people don't like it's the product that is being rammed in their faces.

Maybe you need to learn how to differentiate the two.

@AlienALX You have experience with loads of different brands and qualities. How would you say Tt faired against some of the cheaper Chinese knockoff parts you've used?

Why do you think I've been using Chinese parts? :D I jest of course but seriously? some of the tat I have been supplied by top water cooling companies has been no better and in some instances worse.

Fact is Hmm that 99.9% of what we consume these days (not eat, but buy and use etc) is *all* made in China to the same standards and materials. That is why I started buying Chinese cheapo parts :D

Don't get me wrong Bitspower stuff is lovely but had I not picked it all up in clearouts I wouldn't have touched it. £18 for a fitting? yeah, right... :D

Dead right there most of the premium parts we buy is either made in Taiwan or China :) and just to add China has the highest growing economy in the world due to having no copyright laws ;)

Lets keep this about the mod please and stay away from the personal attacks. I know Tt isn't very popular here, but maybe we can withhold judgment until we at least get the rest of the project log? It's an extremely unique build and I'm looking forward to seeing the results.

It's a mod and it's a really good mod very well documented and deliverered keep up the good work Mt.Mods, I view these threads to see the work and talents of the modders and reserve critisism until it's asked for.

Don't beat a guy down because you don't like his shoes.

Shoes are a personal choice based on your tastes. Modding gear given to you gratis is not. I bet deep down MT feels he would rather be using more premium parts. But he's been paid in parts not to say that hasn't he? That is why he doesn't understand that we are not dissing him or his work, we just don't like Tt stuff. Why would we? it looks like crap.

That's not his fault, but, something he will have to develop a thicker skin for should it be the path he chooses to walk. On other forums people complain about this sort of stuff all of the time. Posts are actually removed because they are like 200 pics of some water cooling parts only.

So I will reiterate, this has nothing to do with MT *at all*. Well, maybe it does because he is bigging up this stuff and some people don't like it. But it's not him people are having a dig at.

Mt does have a point though "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it" this forum is so different to others and common courtesy goes a long way here :)

Why am i not allowed to like the products ?
I actually really love working with their tubing and Pro-M fittings. So much easier to bend with and do loops with than some other brands whom i won't mention.

Pump looks amazing in the quad
Reservoirs are a pain with their non screw type cylinders, they all do the same job, It ain't leaking, so can't complain.
Fittings (non pro-m) i don't know much about not used.
Coolant - Don't have any experience
PSU - Doing it's job, can't say anything bad about them, top does look nice, chrome logo looks decent.
CPU block is cooling my 8700k better than my Alphacool XPX in tests this morning on my personal rig.

As i mentioned before, GPU backplate is a little too high.
I can only give feedback on what i've used, not what i haven't used.
I'm comparing with my EK/Alphacool/CoolForce/bitspower stuff i've used in the past.

If i have something bad to say about a product, i will not hold back. could care less if i was partnered with them or not. I'm sure many seen my alphacool blowout on social media. I have no time for lying, but i also have no time for people who hop on a hate train, just because it's trendy.
I once hated TT too, until i got hands on at an event. Sure, not everything is perfect, no company is.

Then fair play to you :) - you see? that's called me respecting your opinion. If you like the stuff? honestly I am happy for you.

But you can't expect everybody to agree with you dude. That's all we're saying.

Mt does have a point though "if you have nothing nice to say then don't say it" this forum is so different to others and common courtesy goes a long way here :)

There is courtesy and then there is being silenced. Sure, people *should* in effect just walk on by and say nothing but we are not sheep and this is not Nazi Germany dude. If nobody ever said anything bad about anything where would we be? oh yeah, the world we are heading into. Where everything is crap and made like crap but all you hear is positives. It's BS dude.

Edit. I just want to point out again that this is nothing personal against MT. Nothing at all.

Now if ya'll quite finished complaining.
I'd like to get back to the project logs and finish this quad. :)

I appreciate not having a go at me,

I like it too.

I was skeptical when I purchased the TT Tower 900. After putting it together I just love it, along with all the options I have which far surprassed what I could do in a 900D.

TT may have replicated other brand designs but they have brought it to the mainstream modder now. That block certainly looks nice in design. Perhaps could do with a little more colour though. something you no doubt can take care of.

Thinking about it, if there was a chrome build being made, this CPU block with chrome ring would look fantastic.

If I had to say one thing I'm not keen on, and applies to all except Barrow, and thats the logo placed on every rotary fitting. Would love to see that removed. but this build is looking good. Keep it up

You can ignore most peoples opinion on Thermaltake here. They seem to have a witchunt going on against the brand. You will hear "ripped off" "poor quality" "cheap parts" etc thrown in the mix and amusingly most who report this don't own a single item from them, or purchased something from 10 years ago. I got the 900 Tower and the thing is a beast, heavy but damn solid, 100% modular with options galore. I would recommend it for anyone going big.

What makes me laugh here is people's double standards. Look right, I am not having a go and I am not even annoyed but please, don't make me go around collecting people's opinions of products that Mark posts daily. We *all* do it. "I don't like that, looks cheap, looks rubbish etc".

Personally speaking? I have resisted joining the hate campaign against Tt and I thought some of their cases (including the one you have) was a lot of case for the cash and basically gave people a "Caselabs" looking case for a much lower price. Which was nice, because nobody else made cases like that and at least not affordable ones. And you are free to go back through my posts as much as you like.

As I mentioned before, I have now handled and bought pretty much every brand of WC part (even Alphacool, who use rebranded phobya crap) and I don't like the look of the res. I had a Chinese res that cost me £8 that I believe looked better.

So again, for the last time I will point out that this is nothing personal AT ALL toward MTmods. People should be allowed to voice their opinion.

Mods. Out of respect could you please move these posts into a thread called "what do you think of Tt's water cooling gear" or something.

I appreciate not having a go at me,

Looking at that Quad, and seeing your choice of SLI bridge... I think you should give it a go and make a custom one. I had a roll bar style cage like cover in my head to imitate the Quad bike frame. Some rods and a little soldering and I think you could do a sweet SLI job on that :)

Give it a beefy tough like presence yet stay low profile. Since the Asus bridge protrudes quite a lot.
