Pny 7800gt

Tell me how much this sucks. I got 2 7800GT's in a trade. One was an XFX and the other was a PNY. So I sold the XFX (biggest mistake :@ ) and bought another PNY to run SLI. I get the 2nd PNY and a day later it dies. My computer started acting crazy like random reboots, freezing up and that short of bs. So typically, the LAST thing I'd suspect would be my NEW video card. So I've sent the RMA request and I've been waiting for 2 weeks to get the RMA number so I can send it out. Blah

mmmm have you tried each card one at a time?

Did you have the XFX running SLI?

What are your system specs?

I think this can be easily sorted but need to see your rig specs first.

Specs for my rig should be in my sig, but if not then...

Asus A8N-SLI Premium

Opteron 146 2.0@2.7ghz

2xPNY 7800GT's SLI

2x512 Geil Ultra Platinum Dual Channel

2x36gb Raptors Raid 0

Sata:300 & 160Gb Maxtor

Koolance Watercooled Case

Hiper Typer-R 580Watt Modular PSU

I tried running the XFX in SLI with the original PNY and it wouldn't play nice. The bios of the current (working) PNY and the new PNY (broken) are the same. I tried each card seperately and the new one wouldn't boot. It just kept beeping. But when I swap the original (working) PNY in, without changing anything, it ran perfectly.

Good news on the XE and sounds like it's deffo a dud mate, why is the RMA taking so long - should of had the info back by now.

Also - make sure you have the latest offical BIOS flashed to the ASUS board.

By the way I would have sold em both and got me the ASUS Dual 7800GT instead - it's not too late to do that ;)
