Phanteks Eclipse P400 Review

Slightly off topic question to Tom .
Iin the video you mentioned that Phanteks shipped you an adaptor cable to control the LED's from the Formula header , was that a one off or are they selling it as I can't find it anywhere ( my usage is Formula in a Luxe case with Cablemod mag strips internally but would like to control the externals with Aura as well ) but the lighting cabling appears the same ?
PS , would also be nice to see some reviews on other Phanteks case's , for me the Luxe is far ahead of anything else in its class and the Evolve is nice as well .

Connection is different on the Phanteks cables ie: cablemods wont work and vise versa

meh , thanks for the update , i'll hook the cablemods up to the formula and then meter the phanteks out to work out where the 12v is and make me own then I guess , I have a few cablemods coming so will look at re-wiring 1 of the spare adaptor cables .

Given how popular all in one liquid coolers are, i think you'd be suprised.

CPUs and RAM and GPUs are also typically more expensive. I'd agree AIOs are the go to solution these days if you're not going full loop.

Just make one fella, it's really easy to do.

Let's say you really want to have that case, and a rad at the top under every circumstances. A 360mm rad should fit in the top if you'd make a new top panel and put the rad as far towards the side panel as you can. or nah?

Fully Agree with what you have said about the roof mounting, the LED's should of been in maybe 200mm strips with extension cables maybe 3 strips with 3 extensions for £12.00, I know people like me would not of had an issue cutting and soldering them but between the length and the adhesive i think that sucks.

I love the 360mm Rad slot! Like a lot you don't have to use a hammer to make things fit .... ( I don't have a drill good enough to remove rivets it will be done soon i promise).

That has great rad opportunity at the front especially if the fans air flow is not restricted by the front as i was not sure how much clearance there might be.

I also love the fact that the ASUS mobos will have the ability to affect the lighting which means in some areas they are listening to the market (just obviously not roof mounted AIO's ).

I know it was not mentioned in the video but another thing i think that gave the front of the case a premium feel was the Phantek's logo. I looks nice and shiny, not overstated but nice.

And I agree that the steel front is nice. Hope they fix the roof and everyone will be happy... Except maybe the person cleaning their desk right now

I'm sure we one of us forumites will know somebody who"could" make/modify a top panel for this case maybe you should do this TTL as when you mixed the colours on that other case you reviewed last year I think it was NZXT they listened to you

No one is going to need two radiators and yet only spend £60 on the case.

Finally, someone smart enough to understand double rad on -70 bucks case its a nonsense.

Interestingly in the specs they specifically stay away from any mention of liquid cooling options up top. They only refer to front and rear options.

The fan locations are listed separately and include the roof.



Still looks nice despite the disappointment of not having top AIO mounting.

Interestingly in the specs they specifically stay away from any mention of liquid cooling options up top. They only refer to front and rear options.

I'm not shocked buy that, I'm guessing they have been told bye Phanteks not to say anything about it.
There are going to be a lot of annoyed people when they buy this case and find out that they can't put an AIO in the roof :lol:

I'm still tempted to give it a try. H100 in the front and leave the top shut for a bit of a quieter case compared to my current one. I want to retire my current setup into more of a media server eventually. No rush with Skylake being such a small step up from Ivy per dollar.

I'm using the H105 in the front of my case and i really don't see any difference in temps, It's worth a try and if you don't like the temps you can always put it back in the roof.

Still an issue with a lot of people that it doesn't support full loop or multiple AIOs, and in all honesty having checked out the Phanteks support and forums for this case, the over all consensus is that it is what it is, just a £50 run of the mill case with nice aesthetics and yes you can get radiators in the front but this to me still gets my thumbs up for an excellent air cooled rig.

Well that's were the Enthoo and Evolve come in, if you want more you need to cough up the dough which all serious builders and custom loopers will do. I don't look at the Cooler Master K350s and think I ain't buying that for £45 it has no radiator support in the roof. I'm starting to see more and more AIO snobbery of late, not everyone wants water cooling, and not all case manufacturers should cater to it especially cheaply.
