Phanteks Eclipse P400 Review

Still an issue with a lot of people that it doesn't support full loop or multiple AIOs, and in all honesty having checked out the Phanteks support and forums for this case, the over all consensus is that it is what it is, just a £50 run of the mill case with nice aesthetics and yes you can get radiators in the front but this to me still gets my thumbs up for an excellent air cooled rig.

Oh yeah I'm seriously considering it - it's still a great looking case and would suit my needs. I think the silver is well deserved and yeah hopefully a rev 2 comes out with the extra height we want to get the white gold.

A redesign much like the In Win 805 needs and the H440 finally got could really be something. I'd love a new version of the 440 in Black/Blue but they don't sell them here yet - only the other colours.

You know some people will want more with that case without paying extra for the likes of Enthoo & Evolve, It's just the way people are these days.

If you ask people if they want a free case most people will also say yes, doesn't mean Phanteks has to start giving them away. It's g great if a company can cater to 'What the costumer wants', but it's not a valid reason to run your business into the ground

Besides, you are now acting as if it has no AIO support at all, but as far as I know, it is the cheapest case on the market that supports a 360mm AIO and if you also have one on your graphics card you can easily fit them in the back (just because Tom said he doesn't like it aesthetically doesn't mean it's not an option).

If you want to AIO your CPU and two GPUs... You are being silly, regardless of the case you're using.

I didn't say it had no AIO support i said you would have to use it in the front of the case.

Either way some people are going to complain about it no matter what.

Yeah of course, but I don't think that's necessarily a bad thing? You'll use your front intakes anyway, might as well smack a radiator on them and keep the roof vents on to have an awesome quiet case.

Alternate radiator mountings are nothing new, it happened in the S340 that everybody loved, and what about the 250D that had it awkwardly on the side? Or the Raven series that only support a radiator in the bottom? I just don't understand why on this specific case everybody suddenly starts viewing it as a problem.

This is true, the perfect case does not exist as so many consumers want so many different things. There are a tonne of cases out there right now, but still there isn't a perfect one (at stock) for anything I would want to build for myself.

Either way, I think this Phanteks is the best £50 case around right now with the biggest radiator support, a nice PSU shroud, a very well shaped window, the option for silence or airflow at the top, the option for sound dampening foam, quality materials and everything is screwed in without rivets.

Also, I quite like the way it looks. Understated, but not a boring box.

I seem to recall B_Neg doing a build in the EK Vulture with an X99 board and two 290's all in parrallel with just one 360mm rad and it ran perfectly fine. If anyone in the world ever takes this case to that extreme they need some medical attention, but clearly you could. I don't understand why it's even discussed as most people are only ever going to smash in a single low TDP card on air. All the decent AIO cooled card solutions are so expensive the case price is irrelevant. As Feronix says its ridiculous value, and sensibly configured for the size/market/price.

Yes JayzTwoCents did a video with Front mounted rad in the S340 in his video i think he said with his testing he didn't find to be much of a difference.

I literally poster that video here.

CPUs and RAM and GPUs are also typically more expensive. I'd agree AIOs are the go to solution these days if you're not going full loop.

Not if it's a budget build, and this case is aimed at people on a tight budget. In short, if you're not on a budget, you go for the NZXT H440 or a bigger Phanteks case. If you're on a budget, you go for this case instead and will certainly not be having more than one radiator.

I'd disagree. It's a budget priced case for sure but it's features make it an option for mid range builds as well. I think I said earlier I reckon most of these will end up with a decent air cooled GPU and a 240 or 280 AIO in the front. It's a great looking case.

I've waited since CES to see this case live! I really like it and will probably buy it for my next build.
Pricewise,it's really good, and since I wont be doing anything like water-cooling and what-not..it really fits the role!
