PERSONAL SUPERCOMPUTER

how much do u think that computer cost all together. It must be over 50K

Well i mean he list all the prices, they flash accrossed the screen as it goes along, I mean without all the WC equip... The two 590s are 1430, two cpus are 3000, the mobo 550, the tesla card 4000, each ssd is 600 (each) so 4800. The case is another 400 or so. then 48 gigs of memory which is a 100 every 8 so 600 dollars there, Then 60 dollar br player, thats without WC componants etc. So a total so far of around 15000 dollars so far, Like in my post i guestimated a total of 20k for this build... so pretty much the hotest nerd Pr0n that i would trade in ANY tatted up supermodel for...

GUYS GUYS!! haha you need to watch and listen to this WHOLE video to comment,

This is a build for a local weather station. For sysmec (However you spell it) and weather calculations.

Also that pump he has is BEAST. And he is using TWO in unison if you watch the video THROUGH to the end. That is MORE then enough to suffice for the whole build. ALSO i dont know if this guy is just over his head but i dont even think you can get two gtx 590s to run with a tesla card... Reason why you see this video was posted about a month and a half ago and he hasnt posted ANY updates...

Just my 2 cents

the rig is for a radiologist (someone who takes x-rays) - lol - nothing to do with a weather station.

...weather stations were mentioned as one of the types of customers that take advantage of CUDA power apps.

on one of his first comments on the actually video itself he says "The computer will be used for a local channel two weather station." D: i guess miss information... Bleh... Oh well me being an idiot again

I wonder if he would mind going ahead and throwing F@H on it.

And heck, if you are just patient and wait about 8 years of so, you could build the same rig for under a grand.

F@H would be a good idea!,

And lol we might all die because there was no xray machine!! D:!

Amazing... but I wonder whether if he can overclock the Xeons as well he can the AMD 1090T in the nasty "AMD this, AMD that" build. 3.8GHz on water?... come on dude!

Ultimate folding machine! Tesla porno, me want. But I wonder how the internal SLI on 590s will affect the client's usability. And as said above, I haven't seen a RAID card with proper 6Gbps functionality to pair up with the best 2.5" SSDs out there. I hate external watercooling, but this build needs it unfortunately.

That thang needs some (lots of) Mushkin Redline, blue sticks ruin the theme.

Yea i was thinking that also. On the memory i would have thought there would have been a little more thought process put into it. But i think this guy was really just gooing through newegg and withen 20 min had a 20k shopping cart...

It sounds like the client just is rich and wants a super computer. I don;t Know why he is building it witht he SR-2 tho. If the tesla is doing the work why need dual xeons, Cant see many programs making use of 12 cores (24 HT cores). He is wearing a evga shirt and using evga every thing where he can.

It is a awesome build but design seems a bit :S

I think Tom could do a better job

2011 socket coming out soon this PC will be out dated in like 4 to 6 months

:Edit:

Should lend this pc to this CGI guy to finish his video

Good chance the Dr. will be able to claim it as a piece of work equipment and get most or all the cost back as a tax write off.

This PC is insanely savage, man.... do want. Also this man has my dream job, I build an average of 4-5 PC's a year for people but would love to just do that full time.

He doesnt do this full time, Its a side job. If he did this full time and it took him over a damn month to build my 20k+ pc... Id be cracking some skulls...

Art takes time my friend. Hah, most of the clients I have built computers for depending on what it consist of take anywhere from 2-3 weeks (from time of ordering parts to drop off/pick up). So a month for a rig like that with the modding he is doing and just getting it perfect is an acceptable amount of time.

I'm guessing this isn't the only build he's working on. Perhaps just the only one he's posting videos for.

I was looking forward to seeing this thing, wonder when he's gonna put up a vid of the finished article?
