PERSONAL SUPERCOMPUTER

I suppose as well, all of these issues are what makes this build interesting to watch along with the huge amount of hardware.

Update, on the radbox.

Personal comment: They be complaining all the time about that 3-pin power distribution strip. If you've seen this product before in photos, you'd know that they're both male pinouts and you'd wire your power correctly. Also them complaining about their fan controller not being about to read more than one outlet of 3 wires

. It's a power distribution strip, some of us are looking to run lighting off them for example.

It's crazy build but I don't think the builder or the client have a clue what they need. I spec hardware for a living for corporate and scientific use. Unless this build is for a radiologist called Ali G's overclocking and watercooling for what I assume is mission critical work is just wrong.

Also Tesla cards scale better when teamed up, not with normal geforce ones.

I'm sorry, and I don't mean any disrespect by this, but I'm not impressed with the build, method or product sourcing.

It's hard to make detailed comments about what will run well with what software/hardware wize. Immediately I'm baffled by the use of geforce over quadro.. gah I aint going into any more detail, as geforce's hardware wouldn't either. If it comes to it, you can buy dedicated boxes from nvidia at less than the sort of prices being spent.

I'm similarly of the opinion that someone had a substancial amount of cash given to them and had to spend it on "something". "Here's 20k, away you go... gimme the receipts." (my personal building fee is around 20%, so happy days)

If on the other hand, this was just donated kit from manufacturers, given to someone like our TTL here, and they said - go and have some fun - bench it, review it, publicity, blah blah. Then fair comment.

Being overly critical maybe ? I dunno. I'd be less critical if it was all donated kit, as I say, and the guys were just having fun. But this is an advised client and substantial cash.

Tax write-off for some reason ?

Same here maybe they had a gig like "Brewster's Millions" and just wanted to see how quick they could waste money. I personally see no direction in this build.

most of us here could have built a better rig than this monstrousity, and done it alot faster AND cheaper (including P&P)

Just watched this vid - as I was looking forward to the update. What a disappointment... These 2 guys trying to justify why they haven't made any progress, and all they have to show for it is one rad box. Wish they would stop bitchin' about it and get their fingers out... The more I watch the more they come across as not really having a clue - I think the term is winging it....

CPU loop won't work, correctly does he not realize that when he splits the loop into 3 different ways he will get 1/3rd the pressure to each way meaning the water will heat up alot faster, Not to mention he can't control the pressure flow to each of the 'Mini' loops their is no flow control value and gauge, He might have mini loop 1 one taking 70% of the pressure while mini loop 2 gets 10% and mini loop 3 gets 20%, Totally Dumb, But judging at some of the Ideas he has are terrible, And his cilent trusts him to build this Rig for him?

More money then sense.

Oh and he never has installed a Network card before!, Christ how little experience have you honestly have, I remember installing 4800/9600k ISA modems to IBM's when i was 10-12 years old.. jeez, He needs to rethink alot of this build, Hell i could have it built in 48 hours, Hell wrong motherboard holes , Doesn't he own a Drill LOL.

They really don't deserve to be charged with building that system, The colour looks total shite as well, Something i don't understand Also is why they watercooling a PC with a 150mm Res, In a working envioment with lots of heat, That will need topping up way to often.
huh.gif
They're Yateloon Server Fans for a reason, Everyone else uses them on Corp builds. >,>
