Contact was REALLY good on the last run yesterday, -48 in bios @ 1.8vCore, 4.73 ghz.

Pretty sure most of you phase guys do this anyway, but if not its certainly worth it. Once you fit the evap (or tube) boot to bios and let the CPU temp rise to ~ 50 deg before you switch the unit on.

Worked really nicely for us contact always seemed spot on when we removed the tube. Should work nicely for phase too :D

Great work you guys and congrats on a job well done - where do u get sufficient qty of acetone?

If you have any other optimisations that we are not currently mentioning in any of the appropriate threads (pi for example) feel free to document them there for future reference.

Cheers

Ebay for Acetone. There's a great seller on there that does 1/2L bottles for about 5 quid. 1/2 L lasted us 2 sessions (about 5 days total benching) but you'd need less if you arent changing the tube as frequently as we did.

Also found re-using Acetone had an effect on temps. Seemed to get loads of slushy crap in the bottom of the tube (probably water) which hurt temps after a while.

Oh one more thing (sorry for the "bitty" information posts btw thought train is a bit random :p) a "poking" stick is quite handy. Stops the ice lumping together and breaks the crust which can form on the surface. Was especially useful for the Chilly tube due to the evap stuck in the bottom, whether its as necessary for solid tubes (or those without the evap) who knows!

Pi tweaks, Baz mentioned killing explorer.exe via taskman. This didnt seem to help us in 1m benching and didnt get chance to test in 32M. Need to investigate this one a bit further though.

The only tweaks we ran were from Kenny's thread.

This is deff something to work on for the next set of runs, that and sorting the memory timings out
