Some of you may know I have just grabbed myself a 9800GX2. And my god is it a nice looking card.

Thing is, I cannot run it because my power supply is useless. I was expecting to get an 8pin power connector which splits into two molexs. But no, they aren't doing that with this new connector.

But what is annoying is that they have included a 6pin split?! WTF..

Maybe this should be in rants?

So I have just spent 380quid and now am going to spend more to get a new PSU. GREAT!

I am now skint.

Just buy some splitters m8, they can`t cost much.

EDIT: sorry, they`re not called splitters, they`d come under psu extensions. Found a 6pin on ebuyer.

EDIT2: I spend £380, I`d expect connectors in the box. Is the 8pin the same as a mobo 8 pin ?

Thanks for the suggestions guys.

But I think my PSU just won't run it. I told bungy this over MSN the other day:

That my Hiper Type R kicked the bucket and so I replaced it with the only PSU at hand a lower spec 520watt Hiper.

I read that it is recommend to have 500watts for the 9800. So I thought cooool!

But it turns out it is recommended to have 580watts. So I am not going to risk it, I guess I will just have to spend what I have to get an alright PSU.

DAMN.. Oh well, 8800 for a few more days.

@Smithy - I also grabbed myself a copy of Windows Server 2008.. which means DX10.

So, fraps. I want you to crank dx10 right up and just have a play and report back how it feels and the avg frame you see please? I guess crysis is 'the' test.

I'm leaning towards the 98gtx untill the 99's tbh. I've read about stuttering issues with the xfx one but not the bfg one... Also avoid driver xxx.53 iirc...
